Science White noise

A friend uses white noise while studying, and whenever I tried, I heard wind or the ocean.

there is a whole spectrum of noise colors!

The Difference Between Types Of Noise

"We often think of noise colors in physics, electronics, or audio engineering. Different noise colors have different properties. The 'sense of color' that you get in noise signals is very similar to musical timbre or tone color. Similar to these audio signals on the sound spectrum, the different frequencies of the noise spectrum sound different to the human ears."

yeah, same with water flowing (sometimes it REALLY sounds like vowels)

and ESPECIALLY when i'm on acid... the air vents in my house speak to me while i'm tripping. and the water thing is much stronger on shroomies.

word. i guess i was just thinking about how you said the whole spectrum is there (depending on the noise source, i'm thinking in perfect random noise for this thought), which is true both abstract/ conceptually and technically i guess... i dunno.

it's just cool to think that by (in ideal situations) shutting off the right frequencies and perfectly setting the amplitude of the rest, i suppose we can get any sound we want.

i saw a really cool plugin that used a.i. to imitate a real sound and then you can mess with all these parameters and get amazing and novel sounds out of it. wish i could remember the name.

edit
found it, it's called "synplant" and i really want it... sorry for the tangent lol
