Which stimulant releases the least amount of norepinephrine?

As I understand it norepinephrine causes some or most of the jittery effects of stimulants while it doesn't cause much euphoria or other pleasurable effects. So that's why I'm curious, which stimulant causes the least amount of norepinephrine being released compared to the amount of dopamine being released?

I hear ethylphenidate does a good job for this purpose, but are there others (that might be even better)?

building up a co-tolerance / co-dependence to stims and benzos isn't a good idea.
An every once in a while kinda thing probably isn't so bad but I wouldn't make a habit of taking valium every time you want to take a stim unless you only use them very sparsely.
benzo tolerance is a bitch that just doesn't go away - it'd be a bummer to build up a tolerance to benzos when you don't even need them, ie. if you end up having issues later down the line and need to be rx'd benzos, already having a tolerance will tough to explain to a doctor.

I wish I could offer mor einfo about which stimulants are less jittery but I don't know much about them.

When you're going with prescription stimulants and you want a "clean" high, try Dexedrine (Dextro-amphetamine). It's the amphetamine in Adderall that gets you high without that pesky Levo-isomer that makes you jittery. In terms of powerful, euphoric prescription stimulants, I think this is your best option. I think many will agree, most of the good stimulants have bad side effects. I find that without a tolerance to benzos point 5 mg of Klonopin and Adderall have really good synergy, and the release of nor-epinephrine doesn't feel as overwhelming and won't tense you up as much with Klonopin.
If you really don't want to shoot yourself in the foot, listen to mgrady3 and save the benzos for anxiety.
As for Methylphenidate, I don't think this drug has very much recreational value unless IV'd which is (obviously) dangerous. If you want it for work or school, at low doses it might work for you, but try out the Dexedrine for fun and get back to us ;)

Dexedrine is probably the closest you're going to get. If you really hate norepinephrine that much there are drugs that block norepinephrine reuptake.

Dextroamphetamine (a.k.a. Dexedrine, Dextrostat, Vyvanse) is going to be slightly less NE releasing than Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)/racemic amphetamine.

This is skirting on our no "What drugs should I take" threads rule...

I already get dextro-amphetamine prescribed for adhd. I was looking for something with even less norepinephrine release.

I wasn't talking about methylphenidate, but about ethylphenidate. It's a research chemical and it seems to be very selective for dopamine and not for norepinephrine.

I don't understand. Reuptake inhibitors result in MORE neurotransmitters in the synaps, not less, right?

I think I meant to say inhibits norepinephrine? My English is really bad lol.
