I have a simple question I'd like to ask, on which I can elaborate if necessary. For a person with a mental illness (bipolar disorder in particular), which psychedelic would be best to take? Excluding Salvia, because I've already tried it and I don't care for it. That is to say, which psychedelic would be the least likely to produce negative psychological effects (outside of the trip itself)?

Acid is probably the easiest to obtain, but I've heard that it's more intense than, say, mushrooms - which are harder to obtain. So is there a psychedelic that would pose fewer risks, or is it all pretty much the same?

if you have a strong psychological disorder I'd say the best idea is to not trip at all,

but since i love to trip and don't wanna be a hypocrite I must say LSD is much kinder and easier on me than Mushrooms, and many people would agree. No nausea with LSD which goes a long way. Mushrooms also seem much much more personal and spiritually based than LSD to me, not to say that LSD isn't but mushrooms seem like a learning tool only, not a thing to have fun with....

Unless you eat tons of acid I find it to be less anxiety inducing by a long shot...

hope you do what feels right and remember to HAVE FUN AND LOVE LIFE=D=D=D

I too am bi-polar (type 2) and I have always loved tripping and experienced many good side effects and closure on certain things from it that help me feel much much better in the long run.

My favorite is probably acid, but I started out on shrooms.

You might want to look into DXM, its a psychedelic dissociative- And it is the main ingredient of Robitussin, so it is pretty easy to obtain.

Many people will say tripping is never a good idea for those with mental health problems. In truth, only you can decide if you're ready, and if you start with very low doses, as you should anyway, you will be able to get a feel for things. A trip could well be more useful than various medication or therapy you may have had previously.

LSD at a low dose would be a good place to start.

It's best to avoid psychedelics if you have a mental disorder, IMO. Not only because of potential psychological reactions, but also because of potential interactions with psychiatric medications you may be taking.

This is especially true for the unresearched psychedelics, as we know very little about their pharmacology.

a low-ish dose of N,N,DMT. very short duration, amazing effects, fast return, no after effects (apart from a beautiful afterglow)
