Which kit should I Buy?

Have you even read the whole presentation of EZ Xtreme kit ? ( www.eztest.com )
It s I think the most complete afordable testing kit.
If there is DXM you will know it, and PMA will react with EZtest extreme.
If there is any doubt, dont take it or take it to a lab.
This is easy in Holland and in france. (i dont know for other countries)

It is not a matter of better or not. If we speak about marquis reagent, it is the same for all (sulfuric acid and ethanol).
I would say that they are complements.
Personnaly i choosed tghe Xtrem because for the moment it is the only one that can distinguish mixes of different amines (like MDAM and PMA for example).
But remember that all these test to be really operationnal must be done in good conditions (light, time).

the Mecke kit that dancesafe seels as their primary kit is most useful in screening for DXM. it's pretty useless at detecting PMA.

Personally I'm not a big fan of the ez-test extreme.
Although it *does* test for PMA, its testing results can be bit hard to detect (it definately works, don't get me wrong) - but the simple fact of the matter is that a simple marquis test, will not definatively test for PMA, BUT it will give no result if there is PMA. So you could do another test to confirm or deny that it is PMA, but would you take the pill anyways (regardless of the second test results)? PROBABLY NOT!
Go for eztest extreme if you want to CONFIRM that PMA is in a pill, but otherwise i feel that Marquis reagent is just fine.

EZ Test X-TREME does NOT confirm PMA in a pill. EZ Test X-TREME INDICATES whether a primary amine is present, PMA is a primary amine, MDA is also a primary amine. In both cases, the test will tell you there is a second drug present (if Marquis already indicated an Ecstasy like substance and Simons went blue).
I agree with the fact that X-TREME is more 'difficult', we are trying to improve it and recently made Robadope slightly more sensitive.
Don't forget we offer it to evaluate ;-)

the Marquis reagent is sulfuric acid and formaldehyde. the test kits add methanol 'to improve stability' (to disfavor the decomposition of formaldehyde to methanol, i guess).
the 'x-treme' test kits contain Simon reagent (sodium nitroprusside/sodium carbonate), a test for secondary amines, and 'robadope reagent', which is not mentioned in Chemical Abstracts, but supposedly tests for primary amines.
PMA (para-methoxyamphetamine) will test positive for primary amines and negative for secondary amines. MDMA will do the opposite. this allows you to tell them apart. it also allows you to tell MDA from MDMA.
it does not allow you to exclude PMMA (para-methoxymethamphetamine) from MDMA. the website says PMMA is 'rare', though of course you could still encounter it.
the only tests i know of for differentiating between PMxA and MDxA specifically are more difficult than the Marquis/Simon type tests and not practical for test kits. this is because of the properties of ethers themselves and so a conclusive test for PMA/PMMA is unlikely.

I think the main advantage of the EZ extreme is that you can tell if your pill has MDA in it. I hate MDA with a passion and so for me the ability to differentiate between MDA and MDMA/MDEA is the most important feature of this test kit.
One extra question: I recently bought a DOPE TEST kit from amsterdam which is the sameas EZ test classic.....I never get a purple reaction however....it is always black (really good pills go black and bubble while lesser pills slowly turn black but never with a purple stage). Could any one explain why this is?

It may be a lousy testkit. I can imagine because when we started, we made all the mistakes we could make.

it is the test kit that you buy in holland though and its the only one available over there....I would have thought it would have been a good kit. Its called DOPE TEST
