the first time i saw The Departed, i knew it was great. but after viewing it two or three times, i can now appreciate it much better - it's up there with Goodfellas. the performances from DiCaprio, Damon, Baldwin, Nicholson, Wahlberg, Sheen, Winstone etc. are amazing.

in other news, i reckon DiCaprio has to be one of the finest actors in cinematic history. i can't think of a bad performance of his, like, ever.

was the departed but watched goodfellas last night for the first time and was blown away, so probs goodfellas, with the departed and/or gangs of new york second.

Taxi driver was also great.

I voted for Shine a Light because I'm a huge stones fan and I saw it at the IMAX on shrooms and it blew my fucking mind! I thought I was at the concert. I think I even cheered after a few songs. The theater was sprinkled with a few people in their 50s and then four kids in their 20s giggling their asses off.

As far as his regular movies, The Departed is my favorite.

I do have to give a shout out to After Hours. Not many people are familiar with this film. It's hilarious in a weird way. I was pretty stoned when I saw it and did not know what to expect. It seemed as if every event that happened was the opposite of what you'd imagine.
