Which chemical draw software do you use?

Hi,
When I'm translating from SMILES format or full-name, I like to draw the structutre which I do here. Anyone else find some good (ildeally free) software?

This, for example, is a 3,3 diphenyl opiate agonist some 212x stronger than methadone.

CCC(=O)C(CCN1CCC2(CCCc3ccccc23)CC1)(c1ccccc1)c1ccccc1

If only I could auto-export to a sand-box within bluelight...

It's based on the JME Applet written by Peter Erhl at Novaris Pharma AG. It is, apparently shareware so if some enterprising boffin in Bluelight would do the honours, then we could build up a big 'ol database of stuff like this.

Oh, and as to the methadone, the methyl on the nitrogen is 2 piperidine rings and a benzene ring... go figure!

I could never make sense of those things. I usually use the same software you use, though through a different site (sigma aldrich).

I tried downloading the demo of Chemdraw, but it never worked, kept saying I wasn't registered or something. Pain in the ass.

SMILES to image!

Oh, and here is the picture of 'spiridone' for you to take a look at. With freely available precursors, it's easy to make and outside of analog laws, it's not controlled...

Yeah I use MDL ISIS draw mostly, also BKChem which isn't as good for drawing but lets you generate SMILES strings and export as .svg (which ISIS draw won't). Both freeware programs, easy to get.

if its not illegal in your country downloading copyright material, you can find any full version software on P2Ps.

None, I use Ulead Photo Express & Serif Photoplus when needed - I've got a whole library of structures that I've made up from scratch for such things.

I really should learn how to use chemdraw software...

Whats to learn? You drag lines and connect them together.

Whats this software do, because I'm trying to calculate compound formulas in my head and calac. and its damn near impossible.

Ham-Milton, please check your mail more often.

Funny you should ask; last week I fainlly bought Biodraw Pro (its chemdraw with a few things taken out of it) for only 40$ because i'm a student.

Since No one answered my question:

I use Corel Draw 9. I can drag lines and connect them together with that, its even good for logo designs

8) Dutch =D

Benzobay, chemdraw will tell you the mass as you draw it, along with molecular formula, elemental analysis, expected MS pattern from isotopes, predict proton and carbon NMR's pretty well, generate names from structures and vice versa and more stuff i dont really use. Its really good but im sure its horrendously expensive, if you buy it!
Tried some of the linux ones when i had ubuntu on my comp and didnt like them at all! Awkward, slow, would be a nightmare for drawing lots of complicated molecules consistently.
