Which antidepressant is good for sleep so lets say like benzos

Unfortunately, most SSRI/SNRIs have the potential to lower libido or cause other unwanted side effects. Everyone is different.
If you read this article, is has one tiny paragraph that mentions it can sometimes be prescribed to help with ED… but then goes on to describe how it can lower sex drive in much more detail.

I think we could throw articles at you all day long, as well as give first hand advice, based on our own experiences. But talking to your doctor would be your best bet.

I would recommend Clonidine (Catapres) for sleep issues. I don't want to negate anyone's experience with antidepressants, so please take this as just an opinion based on experience and observation. I have known very, very few people who were depressed to have had their issues corrected by antidepressant drugs. These drugs typically produce side effects that can be life-altering when taking the drugs. SSRI's will often lead to sexual dysfunction, Mirtazapine (Remeron) very often leads to extreme weight gain through appetite stimulation (they give it to sick cats for this reason).

From where I stand, I'm just not very supportive of their usage, especially when they are prescribed so flagrantly. A 30 minute initial consultation with a stranger is often enough to start a person on what could be a completely different life than they might have lived otherwise. I personally feel the prescription of psychiatric medication warrants at least several hours of context before a person could make an educated guess regarding their use.

Well, if your looking for an antidepressant to get to sleep there's always Mirtazapine. Best thing to do is talk to your doctor.
For me Mirtazapine worked perfectly initially (especially the first 2 weeks at 15mg/day) but sadly it lost it's sedative effects after about 3 months at 30mg/day. I'm now at 45mg/day but still no more sedaion. It seems like lower doses are better for sleep while higher doses have more "antidepressant" effects but lower sedation(This was also the impression of the doctors in the clinic where I starded taking it).

Yes talk to doc but Mirtazapine is good for sleep but also gives to much of an apetite, doses not higher than 30mg, well I remember taking 15mg or half of it 7,5mg worked great but gave me some vivid weird dreams

Trazodone well it was antideppressant when I had rx years back.
Yes! for the first 2-3 weeks I was costantly hungry 24/7, it felt like weed-munchies but way worse. It got a bit better but now after 10 months I've gained 15Kg. Not really a problem for me since I was underweigh but could be a proble for some.
The dreams can be crazy realistic but very confused/incoerent for me but i mostly enjoy them:LOL:

Mirtazapine ime works great. I started at 1/5 a 15mg. Below what they use to treat depression. I went up to 30mg though because I was depressed and found it work great for anxiety as well.
As mentioned above clonidine. Not an antidepressant but I use it to sleep and if I'm anxious and don't want to take extra prescribed clonzepam.
Exercising before bed, even just a walk helps quite a bit as well

I gained 30lbs on mirtazapine which is alot considering I was 110lbs. The crazy appetite went away and I got 20lbs gone by cutting sugar and bread.
Ssri's don't work on me, makes me very anxious

yeah mirtazapime great for sleep and appetite. not really refreshed in morning, but not the grogginess of seroquel.

IMO zolpiclon (I know not anti depressant) but is the med that helps with sleep and you feel refreshed in the morning.
