Where would I find non-obvious Psychedelic Culture related clothing/accessors?

I've wondered how I could reflect that psychedelic part of me in my dress too, but it always seems like that's a cheesy approach. If I had the balls i'd just grow some sick dreads.

Every once in a while I shave pictures into my nearly buzzed hair.
Like, a lightbulb. Or an octopus. But only when I'm going to special occasions.

Does anybody know what those very colorful African pieces of clothing are called? They're a rather flowy cotton top frequently with an open neck.

Is it strange that I just prefer to dress in something fun or comfortable or classy, with no real care as to what it says about me?

Otherwise, I like the suggestion of wearing vintage outfits from the 60s and 70s... nothing you wear is going to be absolutely obvious to everyone, but there are things that can certainly give subtle hints. I will admit that sometimes it would be nice to be able to know if someone else is interested in the same sub-cultures that I am without having to ask (it's always a rough water to tread) and without it also telling the authorities the same...but unfortunately life is never that simple.

Asked on another forum, got the following website as a result which has some interesting shirts:

http://www.imaginaryfoundation.com/

If I find any more in my search, I'll post them here.
I have like ten shirts from this place. They're totally awesome. Definitely my favorite clothing items. The online pictures don't do them justice. My favorites are probably the 'watering can' and 'necklace' shirts.

I want to know where Shulgin gets his trippy button-up sometimes kind of hawaiian shirts :P

I opt for environmentally sustainable clothing...organic dye fair trade lol...can't get much more hippie than sustainable :-)

Conveniently trees a store near me which is 100% fair trade indigenousngoods :-)

it is difficult to be in this position. i too am there, there isnt anything about me to even suggest i might have interests in drugs, and people usually give me superior looks even if they smoke tabacco, as they think i have no experience with anything... heh especially speed kids in clubs acting all tough.

anyway, for me its difficult to do, and i must say im really reluctant to even try to contact others with similar intrestes in person. its just that where i am at, the places i go to, the chances for similar minded people to be there is so very low its not even worth it. there are more chances of getting in trouble and kicked out than meeting a friend.... hmm, just hit me that perhaps a molecule tshirt is less obvious and more directed towards nerdy drug geeks than anyone else...

so my clothes dont say much about me. i just get comfortable, let my behaviour do the talking and dont worry bout such things...

that imaginary foundation looks pretty nice :) kinda expensive and far away for me, but nice nonetheless

i like looking like non user some times

in fact i have a bunch of old grandpa-y looking sweaters from when i was using heroin cuz i didnt wanna look like a typical heroin addict

most people might think im a sqaure but who cares what they think, talk to me for 10 mins and you will find out otherwise

I would recommend getting those soft wall hangings. You can get ones of Indian and Buddhist deities and also get those with trippy patterns and tie dye. You can also burn insense which always is good, it wouldn't stereotype you too much as well.

I wouldnt know with clothes to be honest, I suppose if you smoke and you are in a social situation, get a fag or tobacco tin that has psychedelic or drug themed images on them, even get a cannabis leaf on a key ring or mushroom. Ever heard of "fun guys"?

Yeah that's true, especially when using drugs like heroin that have such a huge social stigma (and potential legal repercussions), it's helpful not to draw any attention to yourself.

I totally did this too, lol. And a bonus is that it covers up the trackmarks. Still, sometimes people give you weird looks when you're wearing a long-sleeve sweater/cardigan in the middle of summer ;-)

I'm wondering if anyone can help me out... I'm pretty sure I remember seeing someone post them on FaceBook. One of the things they were showcasing were these VERY psychedelic hoodies... they had crazy artwork on them and were holographic. I believe they were reverse able as well. If anyone has any idea of what i'm talking about and could lead me in the right direction i'd be forever grateful

^ that whole website is pretty awesome but that shirt in particular is pure gold!

my ex-girlfriend got me that shirt as a present and I feel so badass wearing it %)

I also like to think it does make more people aware of my 'psychedelic tendencies.' .....even if it doesn't it's a fucking sweet shirt and a pretty good conversation starter.
