one of the most important drugs imo. stimulant come downs would suck soooooooooooooooooooooo much. in all my experiences they've pretty much eliminated em. puts me right to sleep.

are the people who get hooked on them usually people with anxiety? other than that i don't see a whole lot of addiction potential

haha....I hear you brutha....I had a good 65 mgs of adderall today, and my friends all wanted me to go to the bar and get wasted.

Instead I popped a xanax and smoked weed the whole night (best.combo.ever.) and felt amazing and felt better than getting wasted, and feeling hungover the next day :)

They are addictive for perscribed patience mostly...are you taking them for anxiety??

I use them for panic attacks, but mostly for stimulant comedowns (lol), they truly are a blessing.

Dont use often, and dont make it a habit if you do stims alot, and take high doses. I never exceed 2.5mg xanax when I do use. I eat them in 0.5's at a time.

bah, here i am without benzos, and it sucks.

i'd love to get a script for benzos to pop for my SAD. being perked up on SSRIs really isn't my thing. that being said though if i was scripted with benzos i'd probably be smoking a lot more crack and speed... so it's probably good in the long run

I live in PA. and here in the N.E. section you could forget about getting benzos from any Dr. I have serious panic episodes and my hands shake constantly, I've been to over 10 different Phscy. Dr.'s over the last 2 years and they all say "We don't prescribe any benzos here" I guess because my area is so fucked up with addicts.

id probably be a lot more healthy than i am now.

never used them for comedowns.

originally used them for fear of flying/sleeping on flights, then slowly but surely developed a chronic addiction due to recreational use

excellent medicine if you can exercise self control, unlike me,whereby if i like something i will over do it,just like i done with weed and mdma/ecstacy in the past, although i gave that up some time ago

See thats just not right there. Im so tired of hearing these stories about how Dr. are scared of prescribing certain meds because of what they read or watch on the news. Yeah maybe your area has alot of addicts, but that doesnt mean there arent people with real need for the med. Sucks man. I read a article the other day ,and it was saying how there is such a large percentage of people who suffer because of Dr not treating pain ccorect. they did a study out of hundreds of people, African Americans were not prescribed pain meds almost half the time as white americans. And African american women were at the bottom of the list of people who rarely got the medication they needed from Dr. Kinda crazy...

I think (for people with anxiety, at least) benzos are one of the most cruel drugs in existence. They are sooo effective at quelling anxiety, but tolerance to therapeutic effects will always build and efficacy will always decrease over time. Ultimately they can leave a person with unsustainable tolerance, horrible rebound anxiety and a potentially fatal discontinuation syndrome.

people with anxiety would be having horrendous lives. i have had massive anxiety problems and they've pulled me through and i've managed not to get addicted. they're not cruel at all. what is cruel is sending someone who can't stop panicking/crying out of a doctors office without these.

everyone else would just be havign to deal with the consequences of some pretty unhealthy actions.

Oh believe me, they're splendid for short-term use and stabilization (not to mention for seizure disorders, etc.) but too often they're prescribed indefinitely as a solution rather than a stop-gap.
