While there has been a slight increase in poppy cultivation in afghanistan this year, its still nowhere near what it once was. Apparently stockpiles of Afghan Heroin should last until 2027. Do we think Myanmar and other countries will be able to fill the void, or should we expect a surge in synthetics? Hoping desperately for the former.

Why wont they just grow more? What else are they going to grow? Opium pays a thousand time more than every other crop put together and its the only way the taliban can make money.

This idea that the taliban "ban" growing it is just bullshit they tell everyone to get sanctions lifted - theyve never really banned growing it.

I miss heroin so much…
I stopped being a junkie when US heroin became tar that looked, and smelled, like shoe polish. No way would I ever use fentanyl. Too dangerous, and, having tried it in its medical iteration, it’s just not the same. Young people don’t know what good dope is like, I’ll probably never get a taste again. Maybe I’ll get some hydromorphone when I’m in hospice if I’m lucky. It’s the only medical opiate that comes close to dope. Best heroin I ever had was in Europe in the 80’s. I’m guessing that is no longer the case.
