Where to start...I'm a little lost

Hi All,
Guess what? I'm new! I'm scared, intimidated and a mite paranoid about where this Bluelight path will lead. But I desperately need support and somehow think I might find it here. I'm an artist and I live in chronic pain, a prisoner in my stagnant body. My mind is fertile and longs to create but I am so exhausted and drained from pain, I find even the smallest tasks to be seemingly insurmountable chores! Initially I wasn't going to sign up, but I couldn't access some of the information I was seeking so I broke down and registered. I'm really glad I did. I'm looking forward to the new friendships I expect to encounter and information coming from a different perspective than just the myopic views of the standard western medical profession.
Here's to all the newly joined and the established, and the wealth of information and support that is now so readily accessible to us.

Hi Hadley,

Welcome to BL!
This is the best way to start. I understand, am an artist myself and live with chronic pain. When I joined I found support in
Other Drugs, specifically the The Pain Management Megathread (Chronic and Acute Pain Discussion) Version 5.0 ~ V

For artwork, you might enjoy Second Opinion under the Community section. You may post some artwork there or glance at others. The The Dark Side might be of some help coping with pain issues.
Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions you may have. Under Community is the Philosophy and Spirituality section as well for a fertile mind. I enjoy that section personally. :)

Best,
Smoky

Welcome to Bluelight.

You'll soon find your way :) we all feel lost at first <3 Smoky has given you some links to parts of the site which you may find helpful. We also have an adoption programme here where current members (Bluelighters) offer to befriend new members to help them settle in better.
Hope you enjoy Bluelight

Welcome to BL, hope you find what you are looking for, I have learnt to ask questions if I am unsure of anything and I have always had helpful replies from all the kind folk here.
