Where to now? - To all users of opiates.

theres probably more than one person here that didnt follow thier own advice.
if you cannot just walk away right now, and leave opies alone forever, (which is the best thing you could do for yourself) then take it slow. dont be trying to beat last nights high always looking for the best ever.
enjoy being normal. take little breaks for tolerance sake. use just as much as you need to stay well most of the time.
shooting stars are beautiful, but they sure burn away quick.

Does oxy lead inevitably to H?

It did for me, but i've always had a fascination with it. And beats Oxy hands down in my book. BUT it is a very easy path to go down towards skag hell, there are other things in life that are as good as opiates, motorbikes for me i'd give up drugs before i gave up my bike. BUt sport is good way to get iover it all, you cant play sport all fucked up or i cant anyway. Soccer is hard work whe you've been nailing oxy and H all day and teh previous months for that matter (theres only so much red bull can do to wake you up before training lol). Its an experience thats for sure, one i'm still neck deep in and will be for sometime i imagine.

Hi Guys,

Perhaps this is not the correct place on the site to post this kind of thing, but -

I find that since I tried Oxycodone (I did so orally probably about 15-20 times several months ago) and to a lesser extent, Morphine (which I tried once, orally) the bar on LIFE has just been raised immensely.

By this I mean not so much that I can't enjoy things - because I can - and I guess things are going well (study, work, relationship, friends etc) but that always and in some small way there is a thought in me that remembers the feeling.

I used to really really love things like benzos, pingers or even just alcohol, but now everything just completely PALES in comparison. Things are still good I suppose, but I feel like oxy's just capped my life in terms of pleasure and nothing will ever displace that. Sort of like it was a complete state, and everything else aims at capturing some of it...anyone?

The price of using G.O.M.

So good don't even try it once.

I obsessively think about Heroin all of the time, even after being maintained on daily Methadone and not having a shot in almost 2 years.

Now that you know this about yourself you should not use anymore opioids ever. That feeling is only going to get much, much worse. The more you dabble, the more likely that you will develop a psychological habit and shortly afterward a physical dependancy, then it's all downhill until you either die, find a way to maintain as a functional addict, or go in treatment. And it stays with you forever.

first u get that warm feeling, everything is great, nothing bothers u. then u realize it takes more to get to that feeling again. then more, more, more until u run the risk of OD. u r now an addict, forever, and u spend the rest of your life chasing that neon rainbow....get off of them. will yourself to do it. don't worry about tomorrow, just take it day by day. once u past the point of no return, the craving will b with u until u die. quit NOW!!!!

You've had opiates 15-20 times and nothing seems 'special' anymore. Imagine how it feels after years of daily opiates. Its horrible.

)

pretty true :(

Yeah, as others have said, stop NOW. I only used hydro's for four years taking 100-150 mg at a time and haven't been able to get them online anymore for a few years now. And let me tell you, the depression and anxiety and finding it difficult to enjoy almost anything anymore really sucks. Like someone else said, it will stay with you forever.

i wish i had found this site when i first started taking oc's...probably wouldn't have changed anything but at least i would have known what i was in for...it really does not take much to become addicted - and it really sucks when you realize you cant even get out of bed without getting high let alone go to school/work, hang out with friends, date etc. i've been off opiates for a few months ( would be a year if i hadnt relapsed) and i still have drug dreams on an almost nightly basis. and i still wish i could get that feeling from when i first started.

I like everyone else wish they could convince you to stop before your life becomes a fucking trainwreck. I used successfully or so I thought for a long, long time. Then I began to be high more than sober and I was barely dodging WDs. It was almost a decade before I got to that point. After you WD once, you will never be the same person again. Sorry to sound preachy, but it seems like your attitude is exactly like mine was.

Yep. You don't wake up one morning and decide "Hey, I wanna be a drug addict".

At first you will call the withdrawal symptoms something else. You're getting sick with a cold or flu, you're drinking too much coffee, not getting enough sleep, etc. Then you'll figure it out and by then it's too late. You're already an addict before you even figure it out. My first reaction was to get a shot so I can steady my nerves and decide what to do. That first shot after knowing I was dependant sealed it.

If u really want to quit legal meds, shoot yourself in the foot. Metaphorically speaking of course. I had several docs who would willingly scrip me 120 at a time. Didn't even have to go in, just place a call, pick up the scrip, and on my way. I do, however, have legitimate chronic pain, that is why I could get them so easily. When i decided I was tired of being a slave to something that was no bigger than my fingernail, I went and told all my docs that I was becoming(already was) dependent. Shot myself right in the foot, but it may save my life, or at least make it worth living. My docs are sympathetic and willing to help in any way. Now, if I could only shoot that damned monkey on my back!

hey guys, i kno this isnt exactly the forum for opiate withdrawal, but if n e 1 can lend some info...itd be great! im on day 2 with no painkillers. i was doing n e where from 40 to 80 milligrams of oxy a day. i thought that was realy bad...but i read some of these posts, and it seems like a light case. nevertheless, im gettin the same symptoms...insomnia, sneezing, watery eyes, backache, lethargic ;(. the worst part is, ive had a girlfriend for bout 4 months now..n the only part of me she knows is the side thats hopped up on painkillers. will she still like me when im clean? im worried, i love her to death n dont want to lose her...

also...i went thru w/d for bout 30 hours, then freaked out n snorted a roxy30, since then its been about 42 hours, n im still feelin like shithole. although i do feel a miniscule better today, with a bit more energy, it still hurts, and all i wana kno is how long is this gona last for sum1 who only takes bout 40-80 mg oxycontin at most once a day, if not evry other?

I tried two 5mg oxycodones for the first time like a week or two ago and I had the same issue with the OP. I knew it was bad so I stayed away from them, I don't have that "cap" on life anymore. :D

hey guys, i kno this isnt exactly the forum for opiate withdrawal, but if n e 1 can lend some info..

It is the right forum, check out the OD Mega Threads Sticky, we have a thread on dealing with opioid WD.

Your physical WD should last a week or so, but the mental side can last a lot longer.

man just be smart and don't overdue it. smoking weed is the only thing you can do everyday (or several times a week). learn that while you're young. i been using for awhile now and have gone through binges where i'd do oxy like 4 times in a week but i always come back to baseline and i have never felt withdrawals. weed is the only thing i do all the time.

hey mr blonde...or n e budy at all... i have a quick question for you....becuz i cant find the thread ur talkin about...i want some1 to talk to bout this...i have 4 perc 5's left...i was thinkin bout takin 1 a day n then just stoppin for good...would that be a good idea? would i just be postponing the withdrawal? would i just be throwing away the 2 days ive been clean? my buddy said he had 5 perc 5's when he was takin 60 mg of oxy a day, n he took 1 a day for five days then just stopped n he said the withdrawal symptoms werent asbad...i just want a second opinion...HELP

I took 100-120 mg of oxy a day on and off for yrs. Always for chronic pain. It's been 13 days now, and physical wd's are gone. psychological wd's are as strong as ever.

Honestly the best thing you can do is stop while your ahead.

It only goes downhill from here, I swear it and so does everyone else.
