Where did PoN go?

Can we use pictures that aren't ours? If so I have some mind blowing pictures of someone who has the same source as me with a better camera :)

Ill be trying to get some pics in tommorow, plants as whole, or just buds?
Cause All Ive got right now are plants, Ive got about 20-30 plants in a backyard somewhere
I do have some buds from last harvest though

what guidelines? maybe i'm blind, deaf or dumb but i didnt notice guidelines when i sent in a pic so wat de fux yeH?

gotta put that kind of shit in big bold letters
 
If you guys could please email me the submissions you'd most like, I would highly prefer that... It helps me a lot, it's already a decent amount of work to do the write ups, rehost the files, name them, and set up the bracket... so being directly PM'd your favorite 1-3 submissions is the best way to get this done.

I can only select one image per BLer in order to not stack the odds of winning... else I could already have this up and running!

That changes things big time in terms of getting this going. When did you decide to make that rule?

Don't we not have enough submissions as it is under the old rules?

Well I assumed it only made sense to include that - I didn't think it had to be mentioned. What tournament have you ever heard of where you can enter twice or compete against yourself? 8o

And actually, we do have a um... few... submissions for PoN but the reality is we don't get PM'd many at all, and modding here in CD is already a good amount of work (I'm pretty much on ~2-3 hours a day merging, editing, warning, infracting, or answering questions to the best of my ability) - we don't want to go searching for pictures.

If you guys as a community want this to happen, we're going to need the materials (ie: photos taken by you guys/gals) to organize the rest. All I'm really asking is that you guys/gals please just submit 1-4 of your best photos, and a short description of the high and smell. The rest will be taken care of by me or another CD mod.

We barely even had enough submissions for the regular Pot Or Not :! A little crazy because if you pop into the Picture thread, there are so many A+ photos that should be submitted - PLENTY to get this competition started if even half of the BLers that post there or strain discussion would sub in some pictures.

We had come to that general consensus when there weren't enough submissions, that's why I said I'd submit 5 different strains.

So is it one pic each or four?

One pic each will be the final pull, but if you want to sub multiple pictures, that's alright. It'll just be the CD mod who chooses which one gets entered into the competition. So yes, that is one picture per BLer in order to keep the odds of winning even.

So far I need roughly 12 more... and I know there are at least 12 BLers in CD who post in the picture thread and strain discussion with some killer photos.
 
Two problems I have:

1) Camera sucks
2) Never taken macro shots ever.

Any hints/tips to a photo n00b on how to take a good picture cheaply?

Are you guys using magnifying glasses or just have awesome cameras?
my camera is 5 meg pixel and it has a hard time focusing.

Any tips on how to take close up pictures of pot, would help me come up with a submission.
 
Macro on, 2-3 inches from picture, under light... that's about the basics, the rest you'll learn with time. Higher shutter speed will likely = less blur for you, but you're going to need decent lighting, so near a lamp, or in the sun.

Most cameras purchased in the last 5-8 years can take amazing macro, even small digital cameras, let alone amazing DSLRS. 5 mega pixels is plenty for an amazing photo and plenty of room for cropping without image quality loss
