Bulbs are not illegal to buy. Therefore I can give you specific instructions where to buy them. Diamaru in Melbourne Central has them. $6.15 for a box of 10. In the kitchen utensil section. IT's best to just ask at a service counter inside this particular department as they are small boxes and are hidden on a shelf full of shit. As for a cracker, I suggest making your own. We couldn't find a place which sells them anywhere in the city. I went to Bunnings Warehouse and up to the copper gas fittings section and cobbled together a bulb cracker using elbow joints, threaded extensions and screw on end caps. I drilled a hole for a nail in through the top directly above where the bulb screws in. This nail was bent over at the top and wired into place and sealed up with superglue. You just slide the bulb in and screw on the cap. This pushes the bulb up against the nail which pierces the seal. You back the cap off slowly and this releases the gas out of the elbow outlet into a balloon you've put on the end, and you have one hit on the good stuff. We used 15mm copper pipe. Take a bulb with you to make sure it will fit properly. If you want to get elaborate (we did), you can setup some tap style gas valves and T pieces so that you can fill a giant size balloon with about 10 bulbs without losing any gas, and then release them through another valve and a piece of hose to the person wanting to be spun out! You just turn the nob when you want another lung full. It's a piece of hardware that's for sure! Hope this helps. Maxi Foods in Ferntree Gully has them, all House stores stock them, and a place called Consuming Passions on Elizabeth Street also sells them. Don't go to SafeWay, Coles or Franklins. Don't go to a liquor store. Diamaru is the place to go!
