When did your interest begin?

Sometime in the 12th grade, I guess I would have been 17. I started reading stuff on Erowid and Drugs-Forum and it quickly became an obsession.
 
Mine started when I first learned about drugs in school, around age 9-10. I was fascinated by psychedelics (or hallucinogens, as they called them) especially.
 
One night at work a coworker gave me Vivarin, we had a very fast pace job. I was 21. Up until then I had a complete aversion to any substance. I loved the feeling of the caffeine rush. From there it went to mini thins and anything in pill form (mostly muscle relaxers) I could get from this chick I was into. About 6 months or so later, she threw a party. I had never had more than I few sips of alcohol my sis would say 'was just orange juice'.

That night I got HAMMERED! Started with one screwdriver. Progressed quickly to shot after shot of mostly tequila and vodka. I was hooked. The next night, her, her friend and I played Scattergories and the loser had to take 3 shots. Guess who lost time and time again with increasingly ridiculous answers? That's right, me. With the 5th of vodka gone, we went to Denny's. I fell out of the car drunk, laying on the ground. Laughing hysterically.

We ate, had some lively conversation with coworkers, and headed home. We were in my car, her friend drove, and the two of us were crammed in the front seat, and made out the entire time on the drive home. So that was the start.

We were only together a couple months. After that I went manic for 2yrs, during which time I had a lengthy relationship. After we broke up, I fell into a deep depression. September came around and a couple friends and I were supposed to go to a concert, but it sold out just as we got to the door.

We spent the evening in this sports bar shooting pool. We ended up out back, and they lit up a joint. I didn't want to at first, but the one guy said, and I'll never forget this, "do it Ybor style" (we were in Ybor City, Fl it's a clubbing spot). I took a hit, but didn't feel anything since I had never inhaled before.

Several tries over a couple of weeks, and I'll NEVER forget that first weed high, I was hooked. Two months later I took shrooms for the first time, had a wonderful level 2 trip. That progressed to DXM, and Ecstasy. LOVED the feeling of rolling. Man, I miss E.

Shrooming and especially weed have been my staples since then, E if I could find a reputable source again. Been 11 yrs since my last roll. Dabbled in pills here and there. Still have an interest in LSD, have yet to try it. Sorry for the length. These experiences are very vivid to me and I wanted to show them in the right context.

I love Ybor city, I used to go to a place called gameworks which is like a bar and arcade, I'd love to go back again now that I'm of age, they also throw this mardi gras event there, I can only imagine it would be crazy to go partying that night.
 
First time I tried weed ever was when I was a sophomore in high school. loved it. Then i hated it because it made me paranoid. Started doing ecstasy pills when I was a senior in high school and freshman in college. Then I moved to molly and acid me first couple of years of college. Then I found out about xanax and that is what i prefer now. i need it though.
 
I was 12, I think? I'm autistic so I develop intense special interests, and I read a pop science book on the nature of pleasure, a section was on recreational drugs and I was entranced. I didn't try them until later, though.
 
I was interested in drugs at a real young age. My cousin gave me a wine cooler when I was 9 and I got drunk lol. As far as drugs I first smoked weed the last day of 7th grade. Really just smoked weed here and there until the summer after 8th grade I found out about mini thins. They were ephedra pills that anyone of any age could buy at a convenient store. I spent the whole summer snorting those and my brothers ritalin mixed together.
Everyday I did it for 2 months. Never realized how bad it was probably for me until I was.older lol.
 
My brother was a huge influence to me. He's 5 years older than me. When I was still in elementary school, he was starting to get into drugs. My mom used to shove dirty shirts of his in my face and tell me "This is what pot smells like!" Obviously, that sparked a curiosity more than anything, though at that point I was still heavily against the idea of drugs. By 8th grade a lot of kids I knew were getting into weed and I became more lighthearded about it along with others my age. By the end of 9th grade I tried alcohol and weed. Somewhere during that first year of high school I decided I had to try it. Probably because I first started seeing friends coming to school high and always wondered what it was like. By 11th grade, I had heard from several people about their experiences with mushrooms, and gave that a shot. Around this time I discovered and became obsessed with Erowid. After senior year, I was really into tripping and used 2C-I, mushrooms, and MDA quite frequently. Ended up fucking up my brain with MDA, and abstained from most drugs other than weed for a couple years. About a year ago, interest in amphetamines, benzos, opiates, and pretty much any other mind altering substances began. I found LSD about 6 months ago, and it is my favorite. I now find myself willing to try almost anything so long as its safety profile is reassuring. Basically, my interest began when I was much younger, but it has evolved into the beast that it currently is lol.
 
Saw tv talk shows bout kids eating pharms at home, went to parents room, opened med cabinet discovered hydrocodone, oxycodone and diazepam, hated when that first stash ran out, had no idea where to get more,
Then smoked weed for the 1st time and nothin killed me
Hmm i decided maybe drugs arent so bad, now not havin them is whats bad
 
I come from a long line of addicts. There was always parties, and loads of drugs.
At age 10, I had my first taste of marijuana brownies. At 13, I started hitting the water bong. At 15, I was dealing nickle and dime bags of pot. At 16, tried cocaine for the 1st time.
From 17 yrs old on, my opiate addiction started. At first I loved a vicoden here and there, then graduated up.

Heroin was fun in the 90's, but never a habit, and I snorted it. Never had an interest of banging/needles.

As I posted in my introduction, there have been periods of sobriety, during both pregnancies, and raising my children. Thankfully, neither of them at their ages have had any interest in sampling anything.
 
My god mother tossed a bag of weed at me on my 13th birthday and said don't tell it dad (he was a cop) so that's when it all began. Once 8th grade and above hit, everyone gave me weed for my bday, cuz of when it is. I didn't get into heavier things till I was senior.
No pills until my back surgeries at 21..
I stopped smoking pot at 16 cuz it was boring to me.. But started again to enable me to eat and help me fall asleep.
 
When I was 6 or 7. Saw an anti-drug PSA on TV where some teenager stole money from her parents, sneaked out and shot up some drugs. Seemed really exciting! Didn't actually get into drugs until I was 14 and started smoking weed though.
 
15 when the party started.. Goddamn we would through ragers. Loved booze and weed, oh so much. Then I got Rx'ed Vyvanse 70's w/ no tolly, I felt so euphoric.. That was during my professional gaming days, so that lasted around 4 years. I would research the fuck out of every drug back then.. Then I discovered opiates in high school and said fuck it. 18 was the first time I booted up. Now I just drink occasionally, take my rx's, trying to cut my bzd use out.. Picked up smoking again after a veryyyyyy long hiatus, so late at night, smoke a bowl, fall asleep amazingly.
 
I'm Chinese. The Chinese character for "recreational drug" is the same as "poison." So ever since hearing about people doing "poison" on TV when I was probably 6, and getting no answer from my mom when I kept asking "why would anyone want to do poison??" I became fascinated with this "poison" and I wanted to know everything there is about it.

I didn't start my experimentation until I was 18 though, away from home and with some $ to spend.
