I wrote this as it came across my mind
It may not be a great poem
But these are my thoughts
As you read this let me know how you feel

What's Wrong With The World Today ?
Peoples done gone and put there Bibles away
Their living by the law of the Jungle
And not the law of the Land
Kids don't listen to what their parents say
What's with the government taking control of us ?
They're taking our money and without a fuss
What happened to prayer in school ?
Who ever thought that would be uncool ?
They've got to learn that God will always be
Are they gonna change all the money
"In God We Trust" has always been
On all the money I've ever seen
What's up with abortion ?
Killing the poor innocent baby
He never even had a chance
He never had a say in what to do
And how his life should turn out to be
Why is all the violence happening ?
Why can't we all just get along ?
It's sad when you watch the news
And what you watch gives you the blues
The newspaper is filled with crime
Poverty is on the rise
But is that such a surprise
Why can't parents control their kids ?
When did punishment become against the law ?
Back in the day when I was young
Parents could "spank" their kids
Without getting punished in return
but there is a difference between
Spanking a child and child abuse
Parents who commit abuse
Aren't real Parents anyway
So as I close this poem of mine
I have only one more thing to ask

If a lesson from it's learned
I guess love wouldn't be love
