i had a prety massive weekend and since the wekend i dont sleep well, (2-3hrs a night) hear ringiing noises in my ears, very dizzy and light headed and sick in the stomach.

i have been dumping for nearly 2 yrs but never felt this bad.

is this a result from a bit 2 many bikkies on weekend or something to do with serotonin.

i tried to look for serotonin depletion info but couldnt find anything that helped.

It sounds to me like you've simply over done it, and now you're paying the price in the form of a shocking come down. It'll probably take a few days for you to feel normal again, but you can speed it up and help your body by eating proper meals, taking some 5-HTP and multivitamins, drinking water and taking it easy. Also, sleep as much as you can. If you're still having difficulty getting over 2-3 hours sleep each night in a few days, I'd consider seeing a doctor because 2-3 hours is really insufficient for normal bodily function.

:)

The ringing in your ears might be due to tinnitus, which is damage to the ear from exposure to loud noise. Although it might seem lame, it's a good idea to wear earplugs if you'll be dancing near the speakers all night.

If you had a *lot* of decent speed over the weekend, it's probable that it will take a few days for your sleep patterns to return tomorrow, but most people are normally fine within 48 hours of their last redose.

I support what apollo says; if you're feeling too sick to eat you can try things like those Sustagen dealies you can buy, or a banana smoothie or something. Dizziness is often indicative of low blood sugar, so do try to get some good quality (low-GI) carbohydrates into you ASAP.

Also, AFAIK too many bikkies almost always = serotonin depletion (at least for a little while afterwards). Good luck and try to take it easy: doesn't sound like there's anything serious up but, as apollo said, if pain persists, see your doctor %)

Tinitus suck balls, man. I hope you don't have it!!!!
I've had it since i was 16. I'm 20 now and not ever hearing pure silence again is kind of depressing, but the ringing becomes so constent you really don't notice it.
Worst time is when you lye down to go to sleep and there it is, every night. *briiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnngggggggggggg*
But as i said, you begin to not worry about it... but damn i wish i didn't have it :(

As for how you feel, look after yourself more, eat less drugs, drink water and eat food and sleep. easy :)

ring a bell?

so u can get this tinnitus from exposure to loud music? long term loud musci or can it occur from maybe 1 really big nite on the speakers?>

Temporary tinnitus occurs within a very short time, around 25 seconds or so from being exposed to loud noise. Protect your hearing with ear plugs so you don't have to be a deaf old coot later in life.

for me it was a one night venture :( VERY unlucky... stupid couch next to triple stacked speakers... :(
anywho... seriously, look after your hearing like it was your child.......
I'd do anything to get silence back... once it appears..... a week comes around, you ask you mates if their ears are ringing, they look at you silly and you go.... shit.... =P

I get the same symptoms as u ah. its so fuckin shit.
dont have an appetite. rining noise. difficluty getting more than a few hrs sleep at a time. my jaw hurts all the time.
just trying to give u comfert that theres others suffering at this point. It'll all be right as soon as I get a life.

Wiser words couldn't be spoken. I have, in the words of my ENT specialist " The hearing of a 65 year old man who's worked a jackhammer all his life"

DJing can be a killer with levels sometimes required for headphones. But so can any exposure to levels peaking much over 120db. Big sound systems easily exceed these levels and peaks can be massive. If your ears ring, cease exposure. My tinnitus has subsided considerably but it's still there, and is made much worse from just one night out.

If you have trouble sleeping there's a few things which can help. Many people find a water bubbler or fountain helps. Go and get a neurosensory test if you're worried. There's been recent advances in research centred around restoring the fine hairs which are damaged from loud noise.
