This has been something that has annoyed me for years but am only now asking about.
You know how sometimes for some people when they have taken a high dose of opiates their voice gets deeper and kind of takes on a frog like quality?
Why does this happen? I always seem to get it the worst of anyone I know.

do you smoke it? ... opiates affect the breathing air ways, and can be used as an anti-coughing agent. I suppose it has something to do with that

Some people get it worse than others.. but, usually after you've been using consistently for a while.. your voice goes back to normal or maybe you just dont notice it anymore because your constantly on heroin.. Ha. I have a friend who gets it so bad that it's like he swallowed gravel. But, it isn't as bad once he's strung out and using everyday. Your body gets more used to it and the odd/negative affects start to go away (replaced by a host of other shitty things)

I always get it as well, and Ditto with Mass08. The only way my oldies could tell I was high was with that damn croaky voice. They then slowly notice that with that croaky voice my eyes are pinpoint....now I try act normal but I feel they always know when I am on it, at least at high doses.

I disagree with the relaxation argument. I mean I have no better answer, but it seems that it is too strong and something you can not get rid of to just be deemed (because you are too relaxed).
