whats with all the anti heroin comments?

There have been many aggressive, anti- heroin posts recently,which are usually started after one person makes the first stupid comment,and others follow.
Youre entitled to opinion,thats fine,but the posts im on about are just viscious,anti-opiate hysteria.
There is no need to be so blatently vindictive.
Noone else does it about exstacy,meth,weed etc etc,,and at the end of the day,this IS a drugs site.

This has been a problem that has plagued this board since it's induction into the Bluelight community. Yes I'm a Greenlighter, but that's a title assigned since I switched my BL handle. I've been here for over 2 years now...fuck almost 3.
People seem to have an outright hatred for inanimate objects like drugs, BUT ONLY THE ONES THAT THEY DO NOT INDULGE IN THEMSELVEs. I would also say that heroin is so widely hated because people, and ESPECIALLY other drug users, need something to dis to make them feel better about their own drug use. "I do E, that's okay...but Heroin FUCK THAT MAN." As long as there is something WORSE that people could be doing, everything else seems okay. My own observations.
The definition of a slut is someone who has had more sex than the person being asked to define "slut". The same is true with drugs. People bash smack because they haven't tried it, it's out of reach to them and their circle of druggies.
The stigma attached to heroin, and IV drug use for that matter, is horrible and it's understandable. Peoples' mentality seems to be "well E is fine, Weed is fine, fuck even meth and crack simultaneously are fine, BUT HEROIN IS THE DEVIL INCARNATE!" or my favorite "HEROIN IS EVIL BECAUSE MY COUSIN GOT ADDICTED TO IT AND SOLD MY RED CHEVY NOVA."
BTW, what's with everyone's cousins getting addicted to smack? If there is a lesson to be learned from this it's that...DON'T BE SOMEONES COUSIN OR YOU WILL GET ADDICTED TO SMACK.
With all of the new advances in terrorist and muslim hatred, you think peopole would let up a little bit on smack, after all it IS THE MOST GENTLE DRUG ON THE HUMAN BODY, aside from all the bullshit it's cut with.

Actually, it is gentle on the body - more so then most any other drug... the problem, and everyons attitude is on account of the way the drug is percieved ...
First off, MOST of those that make anti-heroin comments are scared of the drug, they have NOT tried the drug, they know little of the sub-culture aside from what they saw in "Basketball Diries" .. so ignorance is a HUGE factor here - we have comments such as "I HATE HEROIN, AND WILL NEVER TOUCH THE SHIT" - I mean, anyone more intelligent then a potted plant will read that and say "what the fuck?" ..
Secondly, and it really relates back to the first point, most of those making anti-heroin comments know NOTHING about the drug - only their friends stories about "getting hooked after your first use" or some such crap... and we ALL have the "best friend" that "lost it to heroin", sold their body for smack, then overdosed...
Whatever... the intelligent realize it's simply a chemical, only as dangerous asthe person that uses it...

I have done almost every drug you could possibly imagine, minus some super exotic ones like 2C-I, TMA-2, stuff like that.
As Phreex said, it's much gentler on the body that just about anything else. Other than mushrooms and DMT's, it's the only drug I can do and actually feel good the next day. Other than a hole in my pocket, it's caused me no problems. I get by better during time periods I'm on it. It's quite different than the stereotypes make it out to be.
And it's the only drug I'm comfortable being into. I'm not a hardcore user and I just got back into it, but for lack of a better term, I *like* being a "junkie".
 
I wish I had a Red Chevy Nova to begin with.
But in all seriousness, I can relate to what's going on here. Myself, I've never used heroin and I don't have any inclination to. I have some friends that have done coke and E (among other drugs), and when heroin is mentioned they'll say they'll never do it. When I ask them why, they say, "it's a veto (slang: bum, lowlife, loser) drug." Like I said, I don't use heroin, but what they're saying doesn't make sense to me. So they're willing to eat two or three pills, but they think heroin is a veto drug? Why? Because ecstasy is a cute little pill that is simply swallowed and heroin is a "dirty powder that uses a needle."
And maybe some people just don't like needles. But I think the majority of people buy into the heroin stereotypes.

I maintain, if you're addicited to a drug, then it is 100% the fault ofthe addict - the drug is a chemical, it does no more then you allow it to...

I also *like* being a 'junkie',I'm only a junkie to the ignorant, I'm a pretty casual user....most of the time. I'm certinaly not ashamed & if I have a friend that i feel will freak out when/if they discover my *dirty secret* then I dont really consider them good friends.
if you haven't tried it then SHUT THE FUCK UP!
 
i've never used heroin and i know nothing about it except for the propaganda. thing is, i _know_ that i'm ignorant, and i've never made any anti-heroin comments on this board or anywhere.
basically, what i 'know' about heroin is all the bullshit propaganda... it's all about junkies living in dirty squads, stealing, prostituting etc etc. it's also likely to kill you or get addicted after one dose.
i don't beleive all that, not at all, because for pills i've taken the time to learn the truth, and i'm sure that the truth about heroin is way different than when i've seen.
i freely admit i'm _scared_ of heroin. i never want to do it, it sounds terrifying.
not sure what my point is now.. except maybe, yeah, i'm scared and i'm ignorant... so therefore, i (generally) keep my mouth shut on those issues.
i just think this board is fantastic in it's open-ness, that people can freely discuss heroin use... so i guess i wish the "heroin is the devil" people would shut up too.
