🌟🌟 Social 🌟🌟 What's the last film you saw? v. Why doesn’t Peter Jackson wear shoes?

last film i saw at theatre was "Drop".... leave all common sence at the door b/c this is absurd. setting was nice, the restaraunt, the way the texts showed up on screen, kept me guessing, but the ending when the "bad guy" takes his mask off..i had NO idea WHO it was...lol had to google it, but it makes sence now. 5/10

Just rewatched the Cabin Fever series:
Cabin Fever (2002)
Cabin Fever 2: Spring Break (2009)
Cabin Fever 3: Patient Zero (2014)
Cabin Fever (2016)*

I can 100% admit/see how these are "Bad" but I actually love them (except maybe 2).

Would anyone else like to see a one of these where for ONE just ONE person ACTUALLY DIES OF THE DISEASE? It's so weird nobody actually does in any of the movies? Oh, OBVIOUS SPOILERS HERE!!!

Cabin Fever (2002):
Karen - mercy-killed by Paul
Marci - torn apart by crazy infected dog (Dr Mambo)
Hermit - Set on fire and dies of injuries
Eli-Roth cameo character - torn apart by Dr Mambo
Jeff - never gets infected but is shot last-minute (referencing the ending of Night of the Living Dead)
Paul - infected and left to die but actually survives until the opening scene of the sequel
Burt - shot by locals

Cabin Fever 2: Spring Break (2009)
Basically Everybody - killed my the army/whatever-secret-army-branch that infiltrate the prom
Paul - hit by bus in opening scene and explodes

Cabin Fever 3: Patient Zero (2014)
Porter - "carrier", asymptomatic, survives
Bridget - infected, flesh SEVERELY broken down, literally ripped apart by Penny, entire skull/face smashed into paste with a dildo, by Penny (yes, really)
Penny - very severely infected, probably close to death but literally ripped apart by Bridget, died of injuries inflicted by Bridget, NOT the virus
Ryan Donohue (yeah I don't remember many character names here) - killed by scientist guy
Brandon Eaton - killed by scientist guy
Scientist Guy - shot by...uhhh...IDK
Latina Scientist - seen with "rash" after being deliberately infected by porter. Ostensibly dies but we never see anything beyond small rash.
Main Hero Who I Actually Thought Was a Douchebag - same as Latina scientist. We know he's infected, but don't see any sign of infection yet.

I just wanna see ONE character ACTUALLY die of the virus. Like, how do we know it's DEFINITELY fatal? (not that one could survive what is essentially a highly contagious, viral, version of Necrotizing Fasciitis)

*Why the fuck did they remake a movie 12 years after it came out? Parts are definitely more gruesome/extreme (Jesus fucking Christ, what did Karen do to deserve that!?) but IMO the gore effects look worse.

i watched the last of sheila (1973)

a couple of people recommended it over the past few years and it's always been stuck on my list, never at the top. a couple of days ago, it appeared in a top 10 list on youtube so i figured it was time to watch it :)

the cast was star studded and the movie was pretty entertaining. i love agatha christie whodoneits and this had a fair bit of that.

Currently watching Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

It is a decidedly average sci-fi movie which I've always had a soft spot for owing to my love for the videogame series.

The CGI is still very impressive, though it does flirt with the uncanny valley in some ways particularly facial animations. This film came out 24 years ago.

At the time it was the most expensive animated movie ever made (probably still is), and indeed it was responsible for bankrupting the studio that produced it. It never came close to recouping it's production budget and Spirits Within ended up being Square Pictures' first and last feature film.

I saw this in theatres and completely forgot about it until just now, couldn't even tell you if I liked it or not, but I remember who I saw it with and where I saw it. Memory unlocked!

Wow, I can't remember the last time I actually went out and watched a movie

It's been about a decade for me if we're talking like going out to the cinema.

I'm going this month, though. Just 'cause my Aunt got me cinema tickets for Xmas. I've never seen IMAX or 4D or anything like that. I really couldn't think of anything worth seeing but I do love the Final Destination franchise, so I'll probably use it to go see Final Destination: Bloodlines

I've started going to the movies a fair amount over the past 6 months. I like seeing them surrounded by strangers and gives me an excuse to go out in public, which is a good thing, I think.
Also, I like that I watch it straight through without fucking around going to the kitchen to make sandwich or whatever. Just me sitting there enveloped in darkness, immersed in the movie, no distraction.

^cant stand most theaters because they’re full of distractions. Zoomers/Boomers on their phones (yep it extends to all ages now), drunk assholes talking loud, people bringing newborns and children to a rated R flick…

Can’t stand that shit. If I go to a theater and there’s more than about 8 people I walk out and demand a refund these days. 8 or so seems to be the magic number where people will actually sit and watch the film instead of talking or pulling out their phones.

Now at the house, I have no distractions and I can watch it as loud as I like and use subs if I want to. Much better experience. Can’t wait to get a bigger tv.

Have not seen a movie in a theater since Road To Perdition in 2002. Before that Star Trek 5 in 1989. I really dislike public theaters.
