both are great films, gelmor del toror ( typo) pans labyrinth is sick i seen it tripping first time i seen it,
Antrchrist i seen recently was wicked sweet,
Yes Spun was really good, makes me think of Candy and Permanent Midnight. Stiller pulled that off well especially if you read the book. First time I saw him in a non-comedic roll.

Labyrinth was a movie I loved. I visually saw Bowie in this roll before I even saw him as a musician. Check out Legend, 1985, its similar and wonderful, sexy 1980's devil that reminded me of Bowie's character lol
The newer Legend movie about the Kray twins is awesome also, I am a huge mob movie fan, I've seen Sopranos, all seasons, probably ten times. The psychology of psychopaths on different spectrums, their denial, and how they can separate their belief that they see family differently then enemies is very interesting. At the end of watching I always ask myself if Tony Soprano would have shot one of his children or his wife to save himself. My guess is yes but that would never happen in the pyramid scheme of the mob which is what makes their ability to kill friends and strangers such a contradiction of the strict Italian Catholic beliefs.

Yeah I haven seen it since I was a kid also. I remember feeling all kinds of emotions as o watched. Really good. Candy is a drug movie and great if you are a Heath fan. He was great even back then. I will look up and watch the Facto movie. Never heard of it but sounds good. Like the video by the way. Lyrics included

It isn't the last film I saw but I just got it on DVD. It's Andrei Tarkovsky's Зеркало (Mirror 1975). This is easily my favorite film even though I like Solaris (1972) and Stalker (1979) they're more niche and Mirror is more focused on humanity even though the others are as well; all Tarkovsky films are and I really like them all. I was going to create a thread on this but I didn't think anybody would notice it so I'll just post this here and hope you guys discover Tarkovsky films some day. They're definitely worth giving a watch

Virtual Revolution: Its a B rated Syfi film, but I enjoyed it, and a very interesting ending, on amazon prime. nice watch with a nice flower buzz on and good ice cream

Just a few movies I've enjoyed recently:

This movie is aesthetically beautiful. Awesome modern retro vibe with an 80s vaporwave soundtrack to boot. Overall great.

I have to say the ridiculous amount of awkward sexual tension in the first half is laughable, but doesn't ruin It

Drive totally gave me a little man crush on Ryan Gosling. I’ll never be cool enough to rock that scorpion jacket he wears either. His cool soft spoken whatever is... a bit OTT, but yeah, if Ryan was like, let’s fuck, I’d have to think about it. No homo (ok some homo, but I’m comfortable in my love for ladies).

I love Lars, Nymphomaniac is one of my favorite films. If you like and can follow Lars you will like yorgos lanthimos. Check out The Lobster. Deliciously accurate of today's views, truths, and judgement of others and hoethey see themselve/others on their relationships.
I'll have to give Nymphomaniac a watch, I'd passed on it because it was available to stream around the time Fifty Shades of Grey was peaking and reviews were mixed (plus, two parts?). I liked The Lobster a lot more than I should have. Did the same guy do The Killing of the Sacred Dear? Also really enjoyed that. Odd films though...

7.4/10

Really fun movie. I loved all the characters especially Charlie Day and Jeff Goldblume. It shares vibes with a lot of dark future movies like escape from ny/la and blade runner.

7/10

I liked both those films but Drive was definitely apart, it's a 'hidden gem' in my book. I bought it on Bluray and give it a watch every now and again. I'd rate it closer to an 8/10 imo but well... that's just my opinion man :)

No Country for Old Men (excellent!)
Might I inquire as to why you loved this one? Among the Coen Brother's works I've seen, I have to say it was probably the worst of them all, save for maybe Hail! Caesar which was really just for 50s film buffs... but really, would you rank No Country above the rest of their works? I'm of the opinion they peaked in A Serious Man. The Book of Job has never been so well translated.

Not ranking at all with this one and it's nothing I would ever do. It would be like trying to rank which Lars Von Trier film is best. I love them all but a lot of people despise his films and even call them vulgar. A psychopathic character that made you feel terror, a good guy who you wanted to win, and a complex sheriff all come together very well in this film. What didn't you like about this film?

Watched this earlier, great atmosphere especially in the snow (while film takes place mainly with the snow falling outside). Gets very depressing and weird in the second half of it but worth a watch.

The film had less of a plot than Fargo (says something) and there was endless, senseless violence. I don't enjoy that in films. I don't watch gore porn horror from the 2000s. I know lots of folks who like No Country and I always ask, "Why?" because I'm still struggling to understand why anyone liked it. Inside Llewelyn Davis was better and that was a fuckin' bummer of a Coen brothers film.

Just my opinion. Obviously many people disagree with me (somehow the Saw series made it big).
