So ill bring you up to speed. All plants have been put in the same soil and conditions. 3 of the 4 plants are doing well, nice and green and growing steadily, but one of them seems to be the runt of the litter.

Its leaves are wilting and going more and more pale. The question is why? they have all been in the same conditions since day one. I doubt its nitrogen burn, cause as i said they are all in identical conditions, but who knows.

They are all about an inch to and inch and a half tall and are about 2 - 3 weeks old. They would be bigger, but the weather around here has been awful, we've only had a handful of days with full sun and were a month into the growing season.

anyway, i was thinking of flushing the plant or popping it into some different soil. Any suggestions? heres some pics

This is the culprit

The main problem it's having is that it's dead? Or it looks like it from here. That generally impedes growth. As to what caused it it's pretty hard to get any signs from all brown leaves, but if I had to guess it would be that it lacked water. Seedlings don't have developed root systems which means they can easily not find water even inside a pot that had water added to it. You could try misting it, but it looks too far gone to me. Sometimes seedlings/clones die in the best of conditions.

its not dead, but definitely on its way haha. i kept it well watered, and was in the same conditions as the other ones who seem to be doing well. Im just trying to get a last effort here cause i started out with more but ive had problems with fungus, which i used a diluted h2o2 to kill it, 5 survived. then some animal stole one overnight haha so i just figure i got nothing to loose.

Basically seedling death is going to be one of a) over watered b) under watered c) nute burn d) light burn e) heat death f) genetic suicide. It's probably not a) unless it's water logged, and it's obviously not d). good luck.

its a triple mix, probably not the greatests, but i didnt think it would be an issue seeing as how the others seem to like it. And it looks weird just cause i had some cayenne pepper and other herbs on the top to deter pests, they love my backyard cause i got a big vegetable garden

Looks like it got too much water. Wet feet.

You have drainage holes in the pots?

Also, you should have added some perlite to that soil to help with soil drainage. You are most likely retaining too much water in that soil.

It's off to such a bad start that I would put the little bugger out of its misery if it hasn't left us already.

i opened pic #1 & pinched myself to ensure i wasnt having a nightmare. I dont even know what to say man except that's hideous. Have you tested for root rot? Have you or mother nature been over zealous with the water? Drainage keeps coming to mind, even in back yards i am a fan of Promix BX(soiless mix) cause that shiz iss simply Sexxxy.

Is that the pic of what it looked like three week in?

lol i came out today and its toast. Im thinking it was maybe root rot, but im just not sure why that one got it and the other three are moving along nicely. as i said there hasnt been a whole lot of sun, more overcast and rain than sunny days this summer so far. Ill just put all my focus on the others.

how does one check for root rot? The pots have drainage holes, maybe not enough though. Im just waiting till they get bigger, then there going in the ground or in some big pots.

while im here, for fertilizer i have a 10 15 10 that i used a past year with good success, but im wondering whether i should use that for just veg and switch it up for flowering or what. keep in mind theres only 3 plants, so i dont really want to go buy a bunch of different nutes and make my own mix as thats gonna be pricey and im on a budget. I do have lots of blood meal though that ive been using in my vegetable garden.

also can anyone suggest any good books on growing? ive been using my general knowledge from gardening, but wouldnt mind getting a little more technical.

I read this (The Cannabis Grow Bible) cover to cover in 1 day. Its a kickass and easy to read book to get anyone started growing, pretty much any basic question you might have will probably be answered somewhere in there.

Good luck

I agree, The grow bible is a must have and I'm sure most everyone would agree as well. Its the first book I read too.

switch to a veg formula, maybe a pinch of blood meal for organics. veg** requires a high N but the P-K arent as important til flowering. I've read that higher P-K during veg has been stated to encourage the growth of males over females.

I was kinda dishearten to see the disinformation surrounding certain strains had made its way to paper back.

A good root rot test would be to genitally tug on the plant and test if the plant & stem separate from the rootzone. Good luck & i bet those other three will be Beast0rz by the end of season. The other plant in pics(not the dead one) has some pretty interesting ridge structure. Do you know what genetic that plant is or s it Bag seed?

Yeah, its not perfect. But alot of good proper growing technique is relayed in an easy to understand, practical matter. I would say a must read for any new grower.
