I recently ordered 1 ounce of fuji kava powder. I have read alot online( mostly erowid) and there are lots of them that state it's like being drunk then like being on hydrocodone. Some of them say it's mildly like blue lotus( which I've had good experiences from). Some say it dosnt even work. So after doing hours of research I know I'm going to start with 5 grams but I'm still wondering what I'm going to feel.

If you would explain what your experience with this drug is. Experiences and tips are welcome

Kava can be quite enjoyable yet very subtle. With its very mild anesthetic effect in conjunction with the warm anxiolytic properties of a GABAergic (more like a benzodiazepine than alcohol), kava seems to provide a unique calming sensation I can only ascribe to a figurative feeling of even-flowing water rather than the spinning room feeling you can get from alcohol.

Kavalactones (the psychoactive compounds found in the Kava root) are highly soluble in lipids as opposed to water. So when mixing Kava with a fatty liquid, particularly something containing lecithin, the kavalactones emulsify and allow easier stomach absorption. I typically use Silk vanilla flavored soy milk as it contains a good amount of lecithin and helps cover up the taste of Kava and sweetens the beverage. Using a blender on high for about 2 minutes is the quickest and most effective way but I've found that shaking it for about 10 minutes in a bottle or drink container does a pretty decent job. You can also increase potency by preparing a large batch of extra servings and storing it in the refrigerator for a few hours or until the next day as more kavalactones emulsify in the mixture over time. The amount of Kava per liquid is debatable but it's usually somewhere between 1-3 tbsp of Kava per cup. I always used at least 3 tbsp per cup, 1 cup = 1 serving.

Can I just eat it

Since your experience report was closed, I'll just post here and say I and many others have never gotten very strong effects from Fijian kava. I know some Fijian Indians who imbibe, but more for the social aspect of drinking kava than the intoxicating effect. If you want to really feel what kava can do, the high grade stuff from Vanuatu is what you want.
