So I suffer for a plethera of illnesses:

chronic pain
fibromyalgia
sjgorens
hypothyrodism
chronic headaches and often migraines
arthritist in cervical 3 and 4
bone spurs on lumbar 4 and 5
plantar faciatis
insomnia
anxiety/panic attacks
depression

I was in an all enclusive program they called Intergratd Pain Management. You get Assisgned a medical doctor, a pyschologist, and a physical thereapist. Been going through the program for almost 10 months. I was released by the physical therapist and psychologist months ago but kept seeing my pain doctor (abd before you jump to conclusions, I do not get any narcotics). Well today she informed me that she will need to release me from the program and that I would have to go back to a regular doctor. These are the regular doctors that didn't believe I was sick then turn around and those same doctors get me hooked on pain killers for 8 years. Been clean for over 4 years and don't want to go back into that environent.

I work for the company that I received my medical treatment. I specifically had my chart marked SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION TO OPIODES- do not prescribe. Any time I see a doctor they are like oh you have fibro, migraines, headaches, bones spurs heres some vicodin or morphine, I always tell them no because I knew I would see my pain doctor and she would find something that would work rather than throwing opiates at me.

I just needed to get that out.....I scared of what might lay ahead, I am scared that maybe I am over reacting. But, I think I will just miss the fact that I actually had a doctor that really cared for me, rare to find in the gigantic mass HMO's out there.

do you see your doc again, or have you been officially discharged.?
if you do go again, maybe they could refer you to someone with similar practices.?

i live in medium populated area, and there are several natural-path MD's, and asian medicine specialists near. the fact you have been treated with success for so long receiving w/e care, and the medical records from this 'clinic' to prove it. putting you on anything else would be shocking, double especially if you wish to proceed this particular (non narcotic) treatment plan.

Well she did say if I ever needed her that I could email her. Because seeing her was part of a whole treatment process they have to let patients go so new ones can be enrolled.

I am just sad.. I never had to explain to her the ins and outs of how I was feeling she always knew.

Thanks for the input

You HAVE to be your own advocate in these situations. Research your ass off and get several different Doctor's opinions. Things may not happen as quickly and smoothly as you would prefer, but keep at it and they'll work out in the end.

advocates...

i can find them in other states,,, but to my most awful experience, cant find any here.

makes me want to get very well, and organize such a thing, sometime somewhere needed/
