Misc What to do about track marks?

Mine too and I've tried all kinds of ointments, vitamin E oil etc.... to reduce their appearance and nothing really worked for me.Time away from the needle will reduce how bad they look to some degree but I think you're gonna have tracks to some degree for life.Sorry to tell you that but that's kinda how it goes.

I shot up for a while, vein above the crook, always used Vitamin E and used meth (constricts the blood) and they all looked very black and bad but all eventually went away.
depends on how much you shoot, I have no permanent marks

way back when, triple antibiotic cream was an essential part of my post-administration care process after applying pressure to the site with a warm compress & isopropyl alcohol (which like most alcohols, has a blood thinning effect which prevents the blood from clotting / the wound from healing) but I would use 99% or anhydrous isopropyl liberally with my IV technique just to be safer. @0.02
Yeah like I said, I can't really think of any reason not to use a triple antibiotic cream. And it goes against my first instinct, which is to put Neosporin on EVERYTHING because that is what we did when I was growing up and that shit is awesome. I was just always told not to use antibiotic creams on IV sites... I just can't remember the why, my memory of the last 4-5 years has poofed haha.

Are you kidding me Kidamine? Don't fucking slash your IV sites.... I can't believe I'm writing this. No... Just no... for a thousand reasons.
This. I read that post 3x because I just couldn't quite believe what I was reading. Fucking fail. Though at least I think he was talking about scarring vs fresh injection sites. But better to look like you might have tracks than definitely looking like you self-harm... razor cuts on your hands are going to clearly look purposeful.

I dont see whats wrong with cutting them.... as long as its not like 59 cuts u could just say a cat got u real bad one time and u scar real bad... ive never covered them up with cuts but i thought about it

No I not. My skin doesnt form cheloids, and since I work with my hands extensively, a small scar is much less noticeable than a line of track marks. Id take a pic of it but it I cant see the scar anymore. Im not talking about cuttin down to muscle, justa few layers to turn what is obviously injection marks into a small cut. Notsaying this is the best way but it;s worked for me past.

This goes against harm reduction, but over all I don't see a huge problem with it as long as the person is using sterilization techniques and doesn't cut too deep. I would try other things first however. Use this as only a last resort

Concealer! Use smaller gauge pins if you're still iv'ing. Never reuse needles etc..practice good harm reduction. I used needles 3x a day for 3-4 years, and 18 months on, yeah I have marks but they aren't obviously track marks. Certainly DO NOT go slashing at your track marks, you will live to regret that.. Concealer works well until they start fading. It's a good incentive to stop using needles?

I have quite a few needle marks on my hands right now. I have my first mark that's a line and not just a pin-prick. I try to just tell myself that the average person isn't going to even know what they are, and so what if they do. I have concealer just for my hands, but I don't want to use that stuff every day and getting it into my blood stream probably isn't a good idea.

They do bother me at times, but I'm hoping I can just get used to them.
