For me it's children crying uncontrollably, people tapping their nails on something, people putting things back in the wrong places, and waiting in lines (or anything that really requires patience).

What about you all? What makes you all get ticked off?

All of the above, when I am feeling tired and agitated, as they require nerves of steel. Also the sqeeky loud noise of tha train's breaks some times-just get into me!

I agree - but I think he meant it as a joke... I would never wear a watch that ticks, that would drive me insane because I'd start counting all the time while I'm bored.

rephrase original question plz.

What makes me tick? as in what gets me up in the morning or what what ticks me off?

Former, I think I'm going to spend my whole life trying to work that out.
Latter, not much at all really. It takes quite a lot for anything at all to really tick me off.

ahh, yeah I thought it was the 'what gets you up in the morning'... now I'm disappointed. :P

Ticks me off? Not a lot. When I used to play WoW, I'd get ticked if I fucked up when competing with someone (lol 'competing').
Sometimes when people take food from me, but not so much anymore. I've repressed that primal instinct.

That's about it.

Oh common now, he has given plenty of examples you guys.....you like to teaze!
...or perhaps answer your own invented question?

^okay......what ticks me off........I think I have posted this in the Pet Peeves thread in SO but I get all riled up by people pushing religion on me........by political talks where ideas are being pushed on me....basically when people aren't interested in sharing ideas and having a discussion that involves more than one point of view but only THEIR point of view......for small things that tick me off.......hot weather;) ......people who don't discipline their children in a public place- or who think they can yell and scream and belittle their children in a public place........when someone blows out candles on a cake and spits on it.......waiters who put their thumb in the food on the plate........I feel like I'm complaining alot :) haha

Yeah I know I did give examples so I don't see how you can be confused in what I meant, even if I was vague with the question I gave answers to it which explained it completely.

I totally agree with everything you just said ocean, haha. So if you're complaining a lot, so be it, and so am I.

Hey, I share your ideas! Tell them to wash their finger first before they stick it in your cake!

WTF? I am the only one who understood your question, so what are you talking about DILATED?

People nodding their head in agreement with you as if to say 'I know exactly what you're talking about' but really haven't got a clue.

Mine would be an extension of this.. people who try to make you sound stupid (especially in front of others) if they don't understand what your saying or flat out act ignorant because they have to put actual thought into a response.

Sorry, i deal with so many of these people on a day to day basis that it infuriates me that people will purposely act this way in order to avoid some form of a deeper conversation.

I went ahead and changed thread name, if I erred let me know and I'll change it to whatever you'd like DP.

I get ticked off when general advice and support is sought about complicated situations and what is given is a series of unqualified imperatives. Do this and do that. Do not do this or the other. It is so much easier to feel support and concern if people say "I'd consider this option" "You might check into. . ." "I was in that situation. What worked for me. . . " Like a lot of pet peeves I get annoyed but am sometimes an offender as well, and am working on it. Sometimes an imperative is completely in order, like most of the emergency situations where we tell people to get to a Doctor or hospital now.

It's fine, keep it how it is. I really didn't think that the way I said things was so hard to contemplate but obviously it was, so my bad.

Anyway, people not picking up after themselves really gets to me, and those of you who said people who act like they know what you're talking about but have no idea and pretend too. That really gets to me.
