What the hell is this shit in my buds? PICS INCLUDED!

So i just came into some stuff recently. Upon closer inspection i noticed white specs littered throughout. Didnt appear to be mold or any sort of insect webbing. My only conclusion was either some sort of chemical used in feeding or coke. Maybe from being on the same table.

Ive had this problem with the same couple guys who are in the same dealing circle before. Im not to worried if its just a little bit of some coke that was on the table or whatever that got stuck to it, but i would like to know if it was mold or something possibly harmful.

perlite, it is soil used for growing
best to get rid of it on the bud
you don't want to smoke soil lol

looks a bit odd to be coke..... And how did the pearlite climb into the bud from the dirt?
break the nugs open and see if it contaminates the interior of the nugs too.
 
i thought it might be something similar to vermiculite or perlite, but it seems like its too small. would perlite break up into a powder when crushed? i picked the little bits out, so they will come of the bud if you pick em off.

keep in mind thats a super close up photo, that nug is about the size of the upper part of my thumb.

Also under the microscope its slightly translucent, but from the unaided eye it looks a solid white. Either way if i grab off him again im gonna let him know something is up with it. See if he has any idea what it might be. Last time i met him he was so jacked up on something though he barely made any sense lol.

doesnt look like perlite to me. is it solid, or is it malleable? crystalline?

does it look organic? some type of spider webbing or mite residue, possibly fungal?
 
It tasted and smelled fine in both a blunt and vaporizer. Under 30x magnification it didnt look like what you described. They were larger clumps, and even from the unaided eye you could tell it wasnt crystals right away.

The little white bits were solid as i said above and looked translucent. beyond that i have know way of knowing if it is organic or synthetic. When crushed it broke into a powder. I tried putting some on my tongue to see if it was indeed coke, but there wasnt any effect. It just dissolved... maybe a bad idea, to late now lol.
 
my pop over in holland had a problem like that
i'm guessing they were called spins ? like spiders

Yea its pretty good stuff, aside from whatever the hell that stuff is. Leaning to the sativa side.

My friends picked up from the same dude and there wasnt any of this stuff in theirs. I dont get it, cause a couple of my buds were covered in it lol
