What stereo-typical causal effect of a drug you use, do you think evades you?

Hi,

Im new to blu light - thought this would be an appropriate place to pose the question I had.

To paraphrase, try and clarify what I am asking - as the title of the thread had to be short handed.

What stereo-typical causal effect of a drug you use, do you think does not occur in your day to day life and well being.

I am more interested in why people would think that something does not occur like this... e.g. I smoke weed, however - I believe an honest answer to this question personally if i had to say about myself would be that it doesn't impair negatively or significantly in my life, it probably does - but in my mind its taken into consideration with relation to my diet and other risk factors - drugs/nutrients/sleep/stimulating activity/exercise etc.... It is my belief system that leads me to me saying that this is not a typical effect that pops up in my well being and day to day life.

Of course, it is probably hard to ever memorise and pin-down any real relation here but i am interesting in seeing how people label their own person drug use that they feel is responsible and/or irresponsible, for most i feel it is probably both! always a different frequency of both depending, but what are your beliefs about both?

I am thinking is that drug use in general, drug culture is a scientific attraction in the person (i am suggesting like a science to the self) towards something outside, a chemical or to a substance (or activity for self-indulgence, or self esteem) - e.g a high class degree or something, although i am not saying all people studying at a high level academia or who have passion for complicated science do it for esteem, i am saying there are probably a few (i am a student, i might be who knows...), how many and how significant... i couldn't say but i personally believe that's what the internet and a global village with connectivity is all about. So thats why i am here and look forward to hearing some anecdotes and I think this website is pretty interesting.

Peace x

I like to chill and listen to people, rather than talking and being active on stimulants.

weed kills my appetite

opiates energize me

i have a hard time getting a goodnight's rest when i drink a lot

Opiates energize me , even better lack of opiates leaves me completely apathetic , oh wait that's probably stereotypical.

Opiates energize me, and speed calms me down. I get very talkative on opiates, but become a complete shut-in on speed, and don't want to talk to anyone.

yeah i definitely get an energetic buzz from opiates, which also get me pretty horny in the right amount, maybe an hour or so after a good shot. coke, meth, stims in general, forget about it. no sexual appetite whatsoever. i also don't really feel the need to gabber on stims, though i can be an asshole on opiates sometimes. just a jerk, i don't know how else to explain it. definitely one of my weirdest dug idiosyncrasies that i need to be aware of socially.

Long term effects, theyve been pretty standard.

When it comes to short term effects, specifically from Cocaine, I can do one bump of Cocaine and not want any more. I can completely control my Cocaine use. For example, if I have a gram of Coke I can spread the use out over 2-3 days whereas if I have a gram of Meth, Ill do it in one night.

I have never got anything more than nicely stoned from synthetic cannabinoids, no panic reactions though I am very prone to anxiety.

I used to get the stimulated buzz from opiates too, especially oxycodone, but now they have become sedating for me as my tolerance and frequency of use grew.

Ambien does not have any hallucinogenic effect in any way for me.
