I started playing classical piano at age 8, through age 18, I loved it. I never improvised though, I just played written pieces. I went into computer science in college and stopped playing at all until I was 31... something was always missing. A few years ago though, my good friends who I would go listen to while they played together convinced me to play with them because I'd always sing melodies along with them. As soon as I played again I knew what had been missing. :) Now we have a band, we're about to release our first EP. :) Music is what really has let me stay away from opiates more than anything because it gives my life purpose again. <3

Whoa, that's huge you're about to release an EP! I'm glad you've found your purpose and passion. That's extremely important to keep you going in the right direction. <3
