What social clic do bluelighters put themselves into?

I'm a loner through-and-through.
This basically ^

Ive jumped between groups of different kinds of people over the years, but really havent found my niche. The best group of friends I had was the one that introduced me to 2C-B. I had already dabbled in LSD and Mescaline, but my friends that showed me the glory of 2C-B were absolutely amazing. Its unfortunate that once the psychedelics in the area started to fade away we all kind of drifted apart. Last I heard one passed away from Benzo withdrawal and another became a Meth addict :/ Im comfortable with the group of friends I have now and theyre great, just wish they were into psychedelics as much as me 8) But hey, what can you do?

I like how there seems to be quite a difference between American and British cliques. I was a rugby player at school but have always been into my mod gear, all the sporty kids had different styles, there's not a Jock culture over here

Ive always wantedt o go america and see these jocks, are they really cunts like you see in the films, because over here in the uk, their the equivilent to those kids who aparents buy them everything, and theyre about as scary as a box of kittens lol

I would like to see myself as being part of my own personal clique, but back in reality I'm just another fucking feral.

I dinno if other countries have the feral/hippie divide, they're basically the same thing (dreads, sorta punk/hippie outlook/fashion to varying degrees, often own/live in painted vans, often own dogs, particularly pitbulls, bull terriers, bull mastiffs, often live entirely or semi-transient lives etc) but ferals accept/advocate 'hard' drug-use (like meth, junk, speed, benzos etc) while hippies advocate 'natural highs' (weed, cactus, shrooms, dmt) or only really be cool with psychedelics/empathogenic stimulants.

It's mainly about whether or not you're down on meth. I don't like meth, I don't use it- but a lot of people I know do take meth fairly regularly (though many of them have been stopping recently- burn out) and I generally think that people have teh right to fuck themselves up with any substance the choose to- no drug is inherantly evil, but all drugs can fuck you over if you abuse them.

JNCO Jeans... LOL Tommy.

I'm just another white kid with a taste for heroin, nothing more, nothing less.

Some might classify me as a pseudo-intellectual junky I guess, though I'd prefer the pseudo to be excluded, if I'm going to be an intellectual.

I knew I liked you! ;)

And this is just about exactly how I'd describe myself as well. Just another white and middle-class, college-educated heroin junkie whose had his dreams of becoming something great dashed lol

I think that "jocks" in the US are pretty accurately portrayed in the movies/films. Their families may buy them a lot of things, and although I wouldn't call them scary, they usually will fight. Actually, jock fights are a pretty common occurrence on any party night that involves alcohol, and a group of them.

Jock culture as portrayed in the movies is more of a high school thing. Jocks that smoke weed are generally a lot more tolerable than the ones that just drink and get rowdy. After graduating high school, most of them end up staying home and going to community college, living in the past, while the rest of the people move on with their lives, many of whom go away to University. Almost every "jock" from my high school still hangs out with each other, and never actually went on to make new friends. It's pretty weird, like they have all dated the same girls by now since of course they still hang out with the same girls they hung out with in high school. Even the ones that went away to college seemed to only go to a school that a few of their close friends went to, and they just kept on hanging out with each other instead of branching out. I find it sad, actually.

Really, I thought it would have been horribly inaccurate seeing as how Hollywood thinks us Brits are all top hat wearing pompous twats.

I've changed to so many different styles over time, have been a skater, a greebo (which is something like a goth without the makeup), tried a preppy look before realising how horrible it was and now for the past few years I've been a mod/80's casual kinda guy. BUT my friendship groups haven't changed due to niche. My group of closest friends all have their own styles and tastes in music etc, here it's not like only the hippies or goths hang out with each other, it's either you're cool or you're weird, end of. Well that's what my experiences are anyway.

I don't really have a group of friends. Wow that makes me sound lame. I hang out with my boyfriend mostly. At work, I am all corporate-y, business-y.
On the weekends, when I party, I'm with a group of people who are all druggies (not all addicts, just recreationally use on the weekends!).
When I'm not partying, not working, I'm just me, regular person, yeah. Nothing too crazy.

I don't really see cliques anymore I guess. I'm out of high school, that's when there are cliques. :p

Lmao - jnco I completely forgot i used to wear those. I was the only girl in school with jnco pants and a black hoodie everyday to school...

I would classify myself as a loner, i suppose. My anxiety is just sky rocketing...If my anxiety wasnt so bad i would be a drifter maybe... Honestly, just an addict with dreams i hope to fulfill one day :) <3

I'm not sure. Do you mean Mammoth ones maybe?

Haha. That is indeed them. Throwback, wow. The only person I expect to see wearing those nowadays is an illegal immigrant from Mexico.

ive been associated during my life with hippies & ravers

i am at my most basic state an introvert who likes to get lost in nature and escape reality

Junky Hipster. wait is that cool? if it is then nevermind.
I used to have some Jnco. All the badasses wore them in elementary school.

I'm a geek, always have been and always will be. Work, an interest in science, weed, and my CoF from roleplaying/tabletop games have been constants in my life. I could never identify with the junkie mentality during my excursions into the world of harder drugs, although I still have some friend from that time.

i was an athlete in high school but also an AP studio artist, and without a doubt that helped shape my very diverse group of friends. in college, i joined a fraternity and really enjoy a lot of the friends i have made through the process; however, i also despise about half of my fraternity because of how douchey they are, but i am still thankful i went through with it.

i hang out with people in my fraternity probably about 50% time, and the other time i spend with more of the hallucinogenics/jam band crowd. we get down with lsd, boomers, k, nitrous tanks, etc. and go to shows on a fairly occasional basis. only about 10 of my friends know i get down with opiates (my DOC), and i plan on keeping it that way. if you saw me walking down the street, i personally think you'd have a hard time putting me into a "crowd" but there is a good chance i'd look stoned =D

baically they go from being the social standard to the social nobodies, they never learn how to progress!

Unless they get lucky enough to get a scholarship and end up going professional.

Then they're still pretty much a "nobody", just a rich nobody, unless they really are that damn good.

They didn't have a problem with paying me to do their homework though... so they were useful. That and they loved challenging me to arm wrestling because I could beat them all... was kind of humorous being the anti-social nerd I was back then.

I hate the idea of putting yourself in a category. I don't understand the compulsion. As far as interests go, I'm a huge nerd - but my obsessive nerd tendencies just so happen to extend to drugs as much as it does to books, music, television, etc. But as far as dress/style goes, I'm equal parts hipster, bohemian, and alt rock. In high school, I guess I hung around two different groups - the smart kids that were good students, and the smart kids who were lazy fucks and spent most of their time going to shows, getting high, and shopping at Hot Topic. I was always kind of in the middle, leaning towards the latter - minus the Hot Topic...that place is simply awful.

And yes, I agree that the jock stereotype is painfully close to the real thing in the US...but I do get a sick satisfaction when I fly home on school break and see that the dumbfuck football players from my high school are still living at home, sweeping floors at the supermarket for minimum wage.
