I saw the film Leon (1994) and became obsessed with the bad guy, Norman Stansfield played by Gary Oldman. Crooked cop character, joker-ish, that constantly crunches mysterious pills that make him manic and psychotic. Among fans there's a lot of speculation about what he's taking - some say amphetamine, other say benzos, other PCP or even combinations of all of them. I think zolpidem is the absolute best match.
Minutes after finishing the movie I decided to crunch some pills in the bathroom and miraculously went for the zolpidem pills which were prescribed to my dad.
It's so funny to me that I happened to have the specific drug that most resembles the drug used by that character.
This obviously heightened the obsession to dangerous levels. I cosplayed as that guy a couple times, obviously very high on zolpidem. I don't think anyone recognized the character though.

Damn if 40mg is a low dose for you then whats a high dose? Id say 30mg and above are high doses for people without a decent tolerance

I did have a friend who used to eat 100mg of it at once on multiple occations, said they used to black out for multiple days straight

Yeah, I could have used a better adjective than "Lower"... by "Lower doses of 20-40mg are preferrable" i meant something like "Stay in the 20-40mg range to avoid becoming delirious and manic and blacking out after 30 minutes". 40mg (4 pills) is a high dose indeed.

I never went on a zolpidem binge, but I've seen people go through it and they looked just confused and depressed. Not much point in binging zolpidem since tolerance rises super quick after dosing
