What on earth is a thread prefix?

Lol probs really dim on my part, but what's a thread prefix as I can't post my new thread without one :S

if you're using the mobile skin there's a glitch effecting the prefix option try switching to the full site.

Welcome to the site - some of the sections require a 'Thread Prefix' for example - Other Drugs, require you to use a prefix explaining what group of drugs your talking about.

The prefix tab is just under the subject on the right hand side of the screen - I'm not sure about mobile service as I have never used it for posting.
