what kind of coin to put in a grinder?

i have heard of people putting coins in their grinders on the keif screen,to help push keif through.

i was wondering what, if any, possible health effects different coins could pose. I was imagining some sort of copper oxide coming of a penny, and maybe something else off other coins. What type of coin would be the safest to use in a grinder? I use a penny and i was wondering if maybe i should change that.:\

i was also wondering how many people also use a coin to enhance keif collection.

now i use a nickle, because of the larger mass.

Now i have decided to switch to

I use a dime or quarter. It's probably dirty... If you are that worried about it, you can use any other item shaped like a coin instead. Hell, it could be a square if you wanted it to be.
 
traces from coins won't hurt you, people have to handle them all the time.
 
well i can just imagine tiny toxic oxides falling off a coin and ending up in the keif and then being smoked by Joe Stoner..
Not that im concerned about it, i was wondering if what i imagined had any validity. Or maybe there are certain coins that should not be used for this.

People do handle coins all the time, but they don't go smoking their fingertip residue..... Im just wondering that's all... my baked mind wanders, wondering all the way.
 
in my experience pushing big trich's "thorugh" the screen kinda creates a film of hash that inhibits trichome collection altogether.

tapping works good. i suggest tapping.

also if your gonna use a coin, clean it. everyone touches coins.
 
i always just brush the screen with a new toothbrush when it gets clogged
 
lol, it probably blesses the ground up herbs and makes it more holy (better to smoke)!

I Always just used a penny, even if copper oxide or w/e is falling into my keif, theres never gonna be enough to do ANY damage at all.
 
use a nickel. ive found that using coins with rough edges like quarters or dimes makes some of the keif get stuck in the little rough parts. a nickles nice and plat and easier to clean the weed off
 
plastic + grinder meshing = smoking plastic & thats never a good thing. Much more effective to poor highest grade isopropyl through the meshing & then evape it for a crude hashish extract(bubble is much more worth the time).
