i've learned
that
indulging
in pleasures daily
take away their shine
and sooner or later
you forget what made them so special
and patience
really is a virtue,
though very hard to have
and friends
can be made in an instant
can be kept or forgotten
or time can make them fade
but memories will never die
if you dont let them.
people grow and change
sometimes for the better
sometimes for the worse
or somewhere in between
but i've learned
that you have to let them change
and just because their dreams
arent the same as ours
doesnt mean that they are wrong.
i read this once:
'you are always
everything you ever were'
it was written on the bathroom wall
in a coffee shop.
i thought about it
i dont think its true.
because when i was young
i believed in everything
especially the impossible.
i was innocent
and ignorant.
i'm not that child anymore.
and i thought about it some more
i think its true.
when i was young
i was innocent
and ignorant.
i believed in the impossible -
sometimes i still do.
true or not, it made me think.
horrified that i was the same
and couldnt change
and yet at the same time
glad i have learned and have changed.
i guess it all depends on how you see it.
perspective IS everything.
because everything can be anything and everything
if you let it.
throughout it all
i've learned
that life is precious
and the little things make it worth it
memories and dreams -
no one can take them away from you
not even yourself.
so hold onto them
because sometimes
they are all we have.

*smiles*
that life is precious
and the little things make it worth it
... i agree most with this, but i think i already said that in a previous post.
i've learned that heartache only lasts as long as you let it.
i've learned that just because you put your trust in someone, doesn't mean they wont let you down.
i've learned that happiness is only what you make of it (you've all heard me say this before)
i've learned that i am be someone on my own, and that someone is great.
i've learned that love is hard work to maintain, but easy to lose if you take it for granted.
i've learned that sometimes the best friends you have are the ones you've never met.
i've learned that it feels good to cry for no reason sometimes...
i've learned that i am a stronger person because of Bluelight.
i've learned that sometimes people get too caught up in everyday life to enjoy the little things... things that come and go with the wind. and that you need to enjoy them with the mindset that you may not live to have them again.
good post, mella.

I just want you to know mella that I always look for your posts in here and they really move me and i end up saving most of them to share with my freinds...thanks so much, keep sharing!

Mella - your words are always wisdom in my eyes. This poem in particular left me feeling sad yet at peace as well. I always admire the great strides you make throughout life and it seems that you have once again taken a big step. I also wanted to say thanks for always being there for me ~ I won't ever forget any of the memories we have shared (and i hope that there will be many more to come) I'll always be there for you

One day we'll raise our glasses... to choosing your path and staying on it till the end. Till you've learned, till you're stronger, till you just know better.
As hard as it gets... it's nice to know that we all love this shit. Great work Mell.

Mella,
I cried when I read this because I feel like what you said is totally true, especially the part about people changing. Keep posting good things!!
