Harm Reduction What is with the Bluelight policy on "SWIM"?

I didn't know where to post this, I read the general discussion rules and it seemed like this thread belongs in a drug related section.

What is the problem with the use of the term "SWIM"? Yes, everyone knows that when you say "SWIM" you mean yourself, however, if the authorities were to be reading these forums or tracking your web usage for whatever reason, could replacing the term "I" with "SWIM" help you avoid a conviction for anything? I think everybody on blue light has owned up to drug use by signing up for the forum in the first place. Right?

SWIM does nothing to protect you. If law enforcement actually cared, they could also argue that it stands for "Somebody Who Is Me". It serves no purpose but to make threads hard to read.

This is not the right forum for this.

Using SWIM offers you no legal protection and does not hold up in court, it is equally incriminating as saying I.

No one has owned up to drug use by signing up for this forum either, many people come here to learn safety and harm reduction before they decide upon any drug related actions. Anything you post on the internet is forever, so if you don't want to incriminate yourself, don't say "Oh I have all this heroin it's so great", etc.
