After reading this article I tried to find the difference between LAC and ALCAR but was unable. I currently have ALCAR(n-acetylcarnitine) and am wondering if it will produce the same or similar anti-depressant effects that LAC produces. I've assumed that their might be some difference but ALCAR has produced mild anti-depressant effects over my past week of use. I'm not sure if this is just a short-term effect resulting from increased glucose metabolism.

As far as I know they are different names for the same, ALCAR = n-acetyl-l-carnitine = LAC = acetyl-l-carnitine.

L-carnitine is different then the above missing the acetylation, duh.
