Would I be correct to say that the high is caused by the binding of the CB1 and CB2 receptor to the THC molecule which then takes another step in releasing certain chemicals from the brain to the rest of the body? Or is the binding to the CB1 and CB2 receptors all there is to it?

no, what about cannabidiol (the indica stuff) which binds to thorazine receptors?

"thorazine receptors" don't exist.

CB1 and CB2 provide a large portion of the cannabis high, but GABA, some ACh and serotonin receptors play roles too (CBD binds to 5-HT1a, a target of empathogens like ecstacy and certain drugs like thorazine, maybe that's what you're thinking of) as well as dopamine receptors. Cannabis is a wonderfully complex drug (pharmacologists would call it "dirty") and hits a lot of other receptors than CB1 and 2.

There as a handy informative graphic showing how different cannabinoids effect the feceptors in your brain, like a pie chart divided up with little up or down arrows and the names of receptors.

Ha, somehow I can't quite see "dirty" being used to describe the action of a compound in a peer reviewed journal ;)

Does anyone know if eating a raw or heated hash rock will work just as well as smoking or better? Reason I ask this is because I heard that heat, whether it be from a lighter or oven, causes the THC-A to decarboxylate putting it in its active form, but is this once and for all? Is heating it necessary only once and it stays active even after cooled down? I've even heard that eating it raw works as well. If that is true, why do we heat it?
