Okay got a tooth pulled last friday. I just took my last Norco and yesterday I ordered bali and will get it tomorrow. I was just wondering is this a good strain for pain?

I have found bali best for wakefulness and 'pep'/'invigoration'. It seems like the indo strains are better known for pain. You'll probably notice some variation with every product from each individual vendor, but bali always seems to deliver a speedier sensation (for me anyway).

Contrary to the post above, the general consensus on Bali is that it's commonly known as the most sedating and opioid like strain of kratom, though variation in effects between users is prevalent as you can see right here. As a rule of thumb, the red veins tend to be the more sedating and opioid like while the green and whites, while still retaining opioid effects, have a greater varying degree of stimulation. If you were to ask me what strain is likely to be the best pain reliever, I probably would've pointed you towards bali so your good :). Just know that if you have tolerance to opioids you may not get too much out of kratom.

Even the highest quality kratom has a ceiling of effects that doesn't go beyond maybe 25-30mgs of hydro, if that.

I can't imagine that^ to be true. I got 10g of white vein sumatran a while back and split it with a friend, we were both nodding for about 10 hours. Ruined the entire day, really.

Go ahead and ask in the kratom thread, see the reaponses you'll get. The fact that you "nodded for 10 hours" on a drug that has a duration of half that or less makes me suspicious. I know half-life doesn't equal duration but kratom's got a half life of like 3.5 hours. The vast majority of kratom users would argue they aren't even capable of nodding on kratom, and any opioid user with any significant tolerance will typically blow off kratom as worthless, ymmv...

Yup ^ pretty much useless for a hardcore opiate lover. I could see why some like it but meh.
It could definitely lower your pain a bit but don't have high expectations . I think a lot of non recreational OTC meds would do a better job of actual pain relief and even sleep.
