IF anyone here has gotten hooked mentally and physically what is it like?

I will never do it..just curious what it is like compared to say opiate WD

You don't get sick, it's all mental, but pretty bad for some people. Never seemed all that bad to me, and I've done it alot of times.

Ill try to sum it up. Your paranoid. And have the most crazyest thought you probably will ever have. Example: Your the last house on the block. The garbage man picks up your trash and continues on. Your thinking something like this NO FUCKING WAY DOES THE GARBAGE MAN COME HERE TO PICK UP ONE TRASH CAN!! FROM JUST MY HOUSE!! This and you feel more dirty than you probably ever will. Even showering 3 times a day wont help if your doin a good amount. You feel it on your skin and your hair. You can smell the chemicals on you. Its almost a sweet smell but i hate it wit a passion

put it this way...

why do u think meth is the fastest growing drug in america to this day

because the withdrawls suck, and ull NEVER be happy without it...

have u ever seen a chart on the addiction of that shit...with the american map

it start on the west...2 years later, its already hit the midwest, 1 years later, the entire western hem is full of the drug, 2 years later, its coming to the east...

the DEA can ONLY yeild the progression, not stop it, and they know it.

its a terrible drug to get into , ud rather be addicted to heroin hands down

You feel like complete and utter crap. Your experiencing psychosis, grand depression and it feels impossible to be happy. The paranoia is incredible. Your in your own different world. Its nothing like Heroin withdrawals though, its not physical, its all mental. Not saying heroin w/d's are worse. In my book they are about just as bad. You don't feel sick to your body but sick in your head. The more meth that you do, by far the worse the withdrawals are. The inability to feel happy has to do with the depletion of dopamine most likely, or at least the destruction of receptors after prolonged use, I believe it is neurotoxic...so permanent.

oh ya very permanent lol. My dad has a lot of old tweaker buddies and wow...i thought they were just weird when i was growing up lol. One couple look like there completely wacked all the time cuz there eyes are poppin out of there head. Another guy cant help but roll his head back and forth. My friends dad who is a really really nice guy btw talks alot and i mean alot.

I would say the main aspects of stimulant withdrawal, after the short term effects like crash and paranoia ware off, are anhedonia, depression and an overall sense of fatigue.

Here's a quote from the Wikipedia article on anhedonia, click to expand:
NSFW:
"In psychology and psychiatry, anhedonia is an inability to experience pleasurable emotions from normally pleasurable life events such as eating, exercise, social interaction or sexual activities."

"Anhedonia is often experienced by drug addicts following withdrawal; in particular, stimulants like cocaine and amphetamines cause anhedonia and depression by depleting dopamine and other important neurotransmitters. Very long-term addicts are sometimes said to suffer a permanent physical breakdown of their pleasure pathways, leading to anhedonia on a permanent or semi-permanent basis due to the extended overworking of the neural pleasure pathways during active addiction, particularly as regards to cocaine and methamphetamine. In this circumstance, activities still may be pleasurable, but can never be as pleasurable to people who have experienced the comparatively extreme pleasure of the drug experience. The result is apathy towards healthy routines by the addict."

And accompanying those symptoms is the ever present craving for more stimulants as a shortcut to alleviate the negative feelings (even though it probably won't work very well anyway).

It can take quite a while for these feelings to pass.

I've had some pretty bad mental withdrawals from ADD amphetamines, extreme depression, debilitating fatigue, and my body usually aches. I guess some of that is physical but not bad physically compared to opiates or even benzos. The depression for me was debilitating, made it near impossible to work when you're out of amps and you're used to having them. I had to get on Wellbutrin to get off amphetamines. After a long break I still occasionally take dex and I'm prescribed ritalin but I don't use anywhere near the amount I used to. I've learned my lesson in that department.

I have no desire to fuck with meth after experiencing the horrible comedowns I got from abusing rx amphetamines, although in hindsight alcohol was part of the problem in my case.

I'd take an opiate habit over an out of control amphetamine habit any day, amphetamines destroy your body very fast when used in large amounts, just look at some of the long term meth addicts.

I forgot to mention I had bizarre hallucinations after long amphetamine binges, felt like I was on the brink of death because my heart would be beating so fast and I was so weak from not eating or sleeping for days (the not eating and sleeping are possibly the worst part of amp abuse), it can be pretty terrible, I can only imagine meth would be even more intense but I don't have any experience with it.

I'd agree with this for the most part, but opiate withdrawals seem really shitty physically. Idk which one I'd prefer, once you get off amp you notice how worn down you are and it's less of a withdrawal than it is just feeling like bleh for a really long time.

thanks for the replys.

I am about to suffer opiate WDs but its 90 percent physical/fatigue.

meth sounds like something that will feel amazing but I can not risk ruining my life for that feeling

paranoia, psychosis, anxiety. you get convinced youre crazy, basically become temporarily schizophrenic. not a fun time

the come down from meth can be avoided if u do a few things

MAKE SURE YOU EAT,SLEEP, AND DRINK
the reason why people look so fucked up from meth is because they smoke it and bang it and do it everyday.. Most people get fucked up on this shit because they cant handle it
OJ,antioxidants, vitamins, anything that recharges your brain is good to take

"meth causes permanent damage when taking repeatedly at high doses"
that means if u dont wanna be retarded from doing meth, dont do it like coke
1-2 bumps a day is all u need for maybe 3 days, then when u are out U ARE OUT
all u gotta do is man up and get through the 1-2 days of feeling ZOMBIFIED
but that feeling is cuz your brain is working 10 fold to get dopamine back in your dopa bank

You control meth, not the other way around
im actually coming down right now, i just feel hungry and cloudy headed
i kinda wish i could walk away from this computer, but i just cant lol

id rather do meth (and comedown) anyday than heroin imo..
i personally dont like feeling sluggish, slow, lazy
meth gives u the feeling of riding a roller coaster mixed with a fat ass dose of aderdline & euphoria

I always had downers - benzos on hand so the paranoia wasn't so bad, but I still spend days in bed, lack energy, motivation this is two years from smoking every day to every week and then over the last two years maybe 4-5 times but the comedows are shocking 2 weeks to feel normal which as I said is still basically just feeling tired and fatigued. Not to mention my immune system is shot! My throat is so fukt from smoking, it is permanently inflamed and I am constantly getting colds and shit. I take so many vitamins and supplements too.

^ that just reminded me, when i come down i get these RIDICULOUS sore throats..

you just need to think about it like this
8-12 hours of pure superhuman energy for a half a day of feeling "hungover"

Dude exactly what I was going to say about it. Well not exactly but the part about smelling the chemicals on yourself is right on the point. During stimulation and activation of dopamine your sense of smell improves and I u could definitely smell the extra ammonia that your liver produces on your skin after a long binge or a long paranoid night.

Me for some reason I always have fear of people looking in my window or spying on me while I try to sleep. Which is usually impossible. So to answer your question meth/or related ampth withdrawal imo is easier that opiate withdrawal, however the bad part of it is that you are tormented during those hours. Your own mind seems to have gone on vacation and I hate the full on paranoia that comes forth sometimes.
