What IS Black Afghan?

So, I dob’t use cannabis very much at all. As mentioned on some, unanswered, posts most weed makes me uncomfortable, paranoid and oversensitive. However, black afghan calms me down, and really gives him the renowned "munchies".
I have a friend, no really, who has always shared my fascination for the sixties (Berkley, San Fran, the music, etc) and therefore also drugs. Unfortunately my friend was born with a large stick up his ass, and has never tried any drugs apart from alcohol. Whenever my friends gets drunk, he talks for hours about going to amsterdam to smoke. (It seems that, good friends and all, my friend really is very conservative. For instance, he waited until the actual minute he turned 18 to drink...)
But anyway, I wanted to bring him some goodies. My friend has read every single book about the substance, and it is time he tried it! But knowing he will ask every question possible, I’m is looking for some help (I likes to take them, more than read about them)
So:

1. What IS Black Afghan?
2. What IS the reason for Indica being more common in Europe than Sativa? (Or is it the other way round?) And similarly, why is No 3 heroin more used in europe than no. 4?

I dont know about you but if someone came up to me offering something called "Black Afghan" I would think its either raw opium or mexican black tar heroin..

#4 Heroin refferres to the "powder heroin" used for IV (mostly) but can also me snorted easily. Its usually the strongest and "best" H you can get and its only available on the east coast of the USA as far as I know...

The stuff you guys got over in the UK or whatever, i know used to be, that kinda H where you would have to add citric acid to it before you could use or some shit... But I am pretty sure that now places like Norway, Sweden, Denmark and stuff have the #4 Heroin now days also... Usually you'll find the Heroin #4 in the richest countries/parts of the country.

Yes, here, in norway, we only have no 3. which is good since it can be smoked easily. and yes, you must add citric acid to shoot it.
never tried no 4 (white, china) smack... But then again, I've never used a needle either

I would expect "black afghan" to be black (oxidised or handled) hashish from Afghanistan.

1. Black Afghan is hash from Afghanistan, which is almost always adulterated.
