    Welcome Guest!

What is Amsterdam's policy on MDMA?

I met a few guys from Amsterdam in a bar a couple of months ago. We were talking to them for ages, a lot about drugs and drug laws in amsterdam. He told me that you can get away with having a pill on you in a club.

He also said that its ok to snort coke in the toilets of clubs... I cant wait to go!

It is illegal, but generally its really hard to get in trouble. Police there are very leniant in terms of drugs. When I bought pills from a guy there he said as a foreigner you have practically nothing to worry about no matter how many you have on you.

Really? My teacher tried telling me they were harder on foreigners for having drugs because they dont like the drug tourism, but he was probably just trying to stop me from going - that bastard :D

If you carry 10 pills on you it's considered own use, above that it's trouble.. Although I can still see people getting away with ~15 pills, nothing more.

People can still get arrested with 1 pill though, law enforcement have their own weird fucking ways, bastards!

And foreigners are more likely to get in trouble, easy targets..

I read... in Drugs in the Media actually, a few months ago that they were considering bringing in cards for residents so they can be distiguished from tourists so as to stop tourists from buying weed. Not sure if its gona be done. I doubt they would do something like that. Think of the what the tourism does for their economy!

In Pulp Fiction, Vincent Vega claims that it's illegal for the cops in Amsterdam to search you... is that true?

Its not that things are legal there, they just take a far more laid back view of things. If you keep yourself to yourself and don't cause trouble then you shouldn't get in any. If you somehow come to the attention of the police for whatever reason and are found to have drugs on you, they'll do you for them because you've pissed them off.

Well I am from Holland and this is what it is like: If you stick strictly to the law, drugs are illegal. But Softdrugs, like weed are accepted and you can sell them in our so called coffeeshops. You are allowed to smoke weed on the streets, as long as you don't botter other people. If you go to a club and you have let's say 5 pills, often they won't make a problem of it. You can even test your pills at parties. There's nothing to worry about.

If you don't cause trouble, there is really nothing to worry about. But for some people it is hard to behave when they are in Holland, because they think EVERYTHING is allowed here. We're just normal people too.....

it shames me that america is so ignorant to the drug problem and they make u out to be a criminal if u do e or anything..its mind bogglin..they dont believe in harm reduction, just infiltrating their ideas and choices onto us, instead of respecting us as humans who can make their own decisions...imagine the clubs i went to had a testing area, safer happier partying..we dont get it in this country, we really dont

If you would've read my post closely you would've noticed that you can carry as much as 10 pills on you.. A friend of mine even got away with ~15.

Partially true. Without probable cause they can't do anything.

And do they really put mayonaise on french fries in Holland?!
That's a Belgian thang.

And now for a classic Dutch joke about the Belgians!

What do Belgians bring to bed with them when they're going to sleep?

>>>A rock to put out the light and a flashlight to check if the light's out.

With props to Nick from Utrecht.

Calling all Canadians: feel free to change that joke to make it a Newfie joke.
