i bought "two and a half grams" of opium from this shady ass kid at a show last night (in actuality i traded a little and payed a little). it came in the form of a tar-like substance (most likely opium) squished in a very, VERY sticky way in the middle of a piece of cigarette box cellophane. the thing is, it was so sticky my friend wondered if it might not have been submerged in water at some point for reasons unknown. then i read opium was water soluble. it seems to produce mellowing, counter-paranoid effects. is it a common practice to fuck with opium like this before selling, to extract the morphine or some shit>?

this smells like a cousin of raisins, not flowers...and i thought the smell of flowers was common only in dragon's blood? i guess it could be described as "sweet," it certainly tastes so

To many variables... just smoke the shit and see if you got your monies worth - we could sit here and argue about the properties of the drug forever..

you're right phreex. my real question then can be found towards the end of my first post: is it common practice to submerge opium in water to extract the active ingredients before selling it? is it even possible?

You can extract the active ingrediants from opium. But you probably wouldn't be left with anything you could sell (without the active chemicals) after.
