Opioids What form do morphine, codeine, etc come in in the poppy pod/tea?

I'm wondering what forms the alkaloids in the poppy exist in while a) in the poppy pod prior to making tea and b) in the tea. I know b) will depend on what you make your tea with (vinegar[?!] -> acetate salt, etc), but what forms does the stuff take before the pod is used?
 
As far as I know there are a few forms the alkaloids exist in (or at least the morphine specifically). I think morphine meconate is the most common. I think one can also find morphine pectinate, nitrate and some others too.

I'm not sure about converting it into anything in your tea though. Not saying it's impossible but I never bothered with anything fancy, just did a water extraction and drank down.
 
All I know is the combination of alkaloids in pod tea hits my sweet spot that no other opiate can quench. If I'm in WD, no matter what I take, bupe, oxy, hyrdocodone, Heroin, it'll take the edge off but won't satisy me completely.

Quasi- I know you're a longtime user, have you found this to be the case?

I don't know anyone else whose in the same boat- all of my friends that have tried pods were never that impressed, and I'd be nodding off the same batch they had.
 
Anyone here have any idea what makes pod tea last forever while pharm. morphine is much shorter? Obviously there are alot of alkaloids present besides morphine, but I'm not aware of any present in sufficient quantity to extend the high to the degree it is. I used to wake up the next morning still high back during my days as part of the pod people. This was discussed in ADD, lots of conjecture but very few facts.
 
I've never gotten a concrete answer to that. It's a blessing and a curse though- high lasts forever but the WD does too.
 
i think in solution they are just in their lone form, and if you extract it, what form salt (or base) it is depends on the extraction techniqe. so they're neutral/alone ... or bound to many different things in an equilibrium solution... looking at it either way is correct i think

since there are so many diff alkaloids, i think it's at least partly the liver enzymes working on all those at once (hence being slower on any given single alkaloid)

I am pretty sure a great percentage of the alkaloids are present as meconates and meconic acid itself forms a small percentage of opium.
