what drugs are helpful with quitting cannabis? [temporarily]

I don't even consider marijuana a drug anymore, it's just there... like bread and milk... I never really had to stop my pot habit, but when I would have to take 1 - 2 weeks off, it was easy as pie :)

Yeah like sunflower seeds, those are good for quitting cigs when i tried that. Yeah sunflower seeds do those. and chew em up goood like, but dont just swallow them, thats dangerous. I always do that, and sometimes my ass bleeds in the mornign when i shit them out (and im not a girl either!!)

Get your hands on some hash and a vapouriser if you can't get stoned. There is no way you won't feel anything...

cigs are good, but if you hate the taste of tobacco...smoke menthols they taste like chewing gum. just dont hang out with your stoner mates, go seek out your old non smoker friends and catch up etc

substituting alcohol for weed never worked for me – it’s disinhibition on top of my destabilised mind producing some very nasty responses

benzos can help the agitation of withdrawal but do nothing for the emotional black hole many users fall into without thc and can compound the hopeless apathy. Benzos like thc also can activate muchies.

heroin works very well but it's obviously not something I could recommend. Latterly opium tea was tried with less positive effects but my weed habit had also worsened in the last few years
ibogaine has been used for coke/h addiction etc. I did use weed less for a while after my one moderate exposure to this drug which is interesting

I understand that medically both benzos & librium have been used to help cannabis users who are having withdrawal and I'm sure in some cases antidepressants may work although I personally consider these about the filthiest drugs going. Generally where treatment is available to stoners it is non-drug orientated - therapy, relaxation CBT acupuncture etc.
Reiki acupuncture etc have actually had very positive effects with hard-core crack cocaine users but much less successful with cannabis users who have a very high drop out rate.
There is also cannabis anonymous if you’re into crappy christian 12 steps programs & a few small internet sites like
http://www.dopeheads.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
that would need more members before acting as a support network. If anyone else knows of other resources or what is available in various countries it might be worth posting here.

Sorry if this is a bring down for the majority who can harmlessly enjoy weed but for a minority this is a very real problem

Ive never heard of anyone being addicted to weed. I dont get cravings. I quit cold turkey for a year. Hell, I WANT to smoke right now, but I dont have any overwhelming URGE to smoke. I think it has more to do with strength of will. Substatuting other drugs for weed just makes me think you have an overall addiction for mind altering substances.

I stick to things that grow.

see if you can get yourself some kava. i like it, its just a mild cruisyness. its actually good for you, but to get the high you take a lot more than they say for anxiety.

and just on the topic of addiction. i'm an everyday smoker. i went through several years of severe bulimia, neither of which are chemically addictive but they sure as hell are hard to kick. i've never had a chemical addiction, but i know that i can deal with physical problems but getting yourself out of the mind trap i think is the real battle

Put yourself into a place were smoking weed would not be acceptable and stay their.
