What drug to do in a sensory deprivation // float tank?

Shit man that's a tough question. It's between edible weed, shrooms, and sober for your first time. This is your first time right? I'd go with shrooms.

Something to keep me active but without getting crazy.
I´d say stay sober so to avoid bad trips which may be horrific with isolation like that.

You can always get out. At least eat some weed OP.

I've only done it sober. If I were to go again, I'd enjoy LSD the most, followed by opiates.

actually opiates sound the nicest / most relaxing
too bad i'm all out :(

don't have all day today... probably make some shroom tea

edit: damn it!! they're fully booked like 2 weeks in advance, didn't know it was this popular

id say don't do a psychedelic you could potentially have a bad trip / be obviously in an altered state. its disrespectful to the people running the float room, how would you like it if you were running some service, and someone came obviously on acid, k or mushrooms... sensory deprivation is a enjoyable and trippy experience by itself. wait until you own one, or have a friend that runs a place or has one, then take drugs in it, dont be a douche and trip at someones shop, unless they are okay with it (which i doubt would happen.)

I can't honestly see a business being too approving of this. I don't think anyone wants to have to handle a person who's tripping their balls off lmao. If they don't mind though, psych's would probably be good. The right ones that is. It would be awesome if you could smoke DMT in the sensory deprivation pod, but that for sure will never happen unless you own one for yourself. Dissociatives would be pretty cool. Seems like kindof a waste though considering dissio's already deprive you of your senses. Opiates seem to be the best choice. You can play off an opiate high (to an extent ;P), but personally I find it pretty hard to act normal on psychedelics or dissociatives. Let us know what you ended up doing and how it went!

You're supposed to be 100% sober. I could definitely handle L in a sensory depravation tank.. But, IF you couldn't, just pop the lid open, you're in like a foot of water.. When I did opiates, the thought of catching a nod inside seemed amazing. Still does, frankly.

I've been in a sensory dep. tank quite a few times, we have float labs over in venice where anyone can just sort of go in and try it, and I used to live in the loft next door to their suite lol

I mostly just eat edibles and go in, but I went in on a measly 2g of mushrooms and had an amazing experience, stayed in there for maybe a little too long (3hrs)

It can be pretty intense if you're not familiar with breakthrough experiences from DMT, and other ego-death-type states. I personally would just go sober you're first time, or get a lil bit stoned beforehand, then see how comfortable you are with just you and your thoughts....

Any dissociative sounds sounds interesting imo. I like the opiate idea. I'd probably settle with weed edibles and low-mid dose of shrooms.

Doesn't it seem a little counterproductive to do a bunch of sensory overload drugs and then go into a sensory deprivation tank? Save the drugs for when you get out! then reflect on your experience :)

I think it would be a worthwhile experience and not counterproductive. I've found with most psychedelics, and particularly dissociatives, the more deprived my senses are the more other parts of the mind take over and really get creative(CEV's for example are much more prominent and detailed without light)

Well in that case you could just trip balls in the closet with ear plugs in and it wouldn't require a groupon. I'm just saying I don't see the point but I can see why people would disagree .
