What drug did my friend take?

I don't know too much about psychedelics so I'm hoping you can help me. My friend was telling me about a time when he tripped while listening to the song White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane. He started to hallucinate that he was walking around in a world very similar to that of Lewis Carroll's beloved children books, and saw creatures and shit running around. Unfortunately he didn't tell me what drug it was that he took. Does any drug to your knowledge provide visual hallucinations like he's describing or is he bull-shitting me. Thanks!
