What Do You Have To Live For?

Though, usually thinking about what ill miss in life makes me stop... Just wondering what i could have achieved, failed, loved, travelled, everything... the curiosity is too much for me to not live anymore. *shrugs*

There you go.:)

I'm 48. I hope, as everybody does, that the 'best is yet to be' but it may be that the best decade of my life was the 30 - 40 one. My twenties (the earlier part, anyway) were a depressed, confused, alcoholic shambles.

My daughter
My family
My friends
Music
Poetry
Books
Dancing
My animals
Smiles
Kisses
Hugs

The list goes on endlessly... but above everything... my daughter is my reason to live :)

Right now, it feels like nothing. However hard I try, I'm wrong. But, like everything else, this will change one way or another...

Right now I am pretty much living for genital-rattling bass. I try to fill my head with DnB and constant rave/techno related info/activities. Outside of that I live for my parents, my siblings, and my girlfriend (though occasionally her actions make me want to cease living). I also chose life because existance (life), is not a videogame...you can't just hit "Quit" when you don't like the way things are going.

Err, why not? Is it a crime to just live? Christ, this is all a bit depressing, don't you think? No, not you; you.

I'm hanging around for time-travel, and such interesting phenomenon. Strictly speaking, we're already all travellers in time. But I just want to be able to shift gears.

Dalek invasion; another good reason to live for. I wouldn't mind meeting a Dalek.

Getting shot. Yes, I know it's bizarre, but I've never been shot and I'd like to compare it to being cut and stabbed. Obviously nowhere fatal.

I've never killed a goblin with a pickaxe.

Motorcycling is a lot of fun, too. In fact when I purchase my next bike I'll be able to demonstrate just how much fun it is by screeching along the motorway at around 120mph, through tunnels with my little 'TomTom' letting me know when to slow down for the speed cameras. Bastards stealing our money! They couldn't give a fuck about speeders; it's all for their profit! Come on, Felling Bypass! I'll whip through you like a weasel on coke with its tail on fire!

To be able to say "Hahah! I told you so!" to everyone I've ever met. Well, I say "everyone I've ever met", but really, I just mean my parents. "Yes, I'm a fantastic success and I'm also inheriting all of your posessions. How fucked are you now, eh? Speechless, I'm sure! Ha ha ha!"

To capture Carol Vorderman for my own personal 'Countdown' game. That reminds me of that Bill Bailey bit; "Carol, I want you to dance." "Y." "Because I said so." "Y." "Oh, you're so willfull!" "Y." "Mua-ha-hah!".

Also, I want children and I want them to be super-geniuses with not an ounce of pity for anyone else. In fact, training them from birth to adulthood how to become amazing thieves, assassins and general miscreants would be quite a goal to strive for.

And I like striving!

I've never had a double lung-transplant. Oh, I can't wait for the anaesthesia on that one; it's going to be huge, and so euphoric I'll probably just drool for days afterwards. "Fff...Fff...F...Fesh...Feh...FECK OFF!"

How about instead of "What do you have to live for", let's change it to "What do you not want to die for?" 8)

I cant think of many things, but i am curious about how tomorrow is going to play out. someone said earlier "you can always kill yourself later", i'm hanging out like that most of the time.
another way i think of it is "live each day like you're going to kill yourself tomorrow". and i don't see that as 'day's must be ceased!', but kinda the opposite, not taking life seriously or valuing every precious moment, like how should i know death is something to be scared of? i don't believe in wasted time. i don't believe i have a place or meaning or destiny, i'm just peacing the fuck out and whatever happens happens.

if that makes sense.

LIFE is a good reason to live I reckon even though at times it seems quite shit and alot of hardwork for what seems to be of little harvest!:\ :\

However we mustn't forget those days where you feel happy and truly blessed ;) =D ~ hard I know!!!

Lots of Love

As Loesje says 'Living is the meaning of life'. It's the old problem of turning existing into living. Phil Spector had it right, 'the best chance for happiness is good health and a bad memory'...

Upon reflection, given I have also felt the depths of melancholia, knowing that 'this too will pass'. Life has it's cycles........

My beautiful cat definitely gives me a reason to keep going. Close friends that I know really care about me, just as I am. The thought that you can't predict the good things that will come your way, often when you least expect it.

Life's a journey....... there is past, present and FUTURE. If you feel like it's all bad right now, remember there is great potential in the future - that's definitely worth living for.

This is meant to be a positive thread!!!!

We know the dark thoughts we all harbour, but lets try and get some positive posts in here!

I just realized that I have plenty enough to live for to make it worth being alive and living the life I'm living now. My brain sponges up information & soaks in it, which is interesting enough in and of itself.

I live for, wife, kids, dogs, sunshine, stimulants, psychedelics, people who make me laugh, people who make me angry, stupid T.V. programmes like scrubs, great T.V. programmes like wildlife documentaries, history, books on anything non fictional, riding bikes (motorised preferably, but a pedal version does at the moment) overtaking people , screwing the engine to the wire, picking mushrooms, oh and typing crap on the internet (which is pretty entertaing actually, for me anyway ;) ) To climb mountains ( admittedly this is an upcoming project 8) ) To dream/daydream of many many things.

I daydream too much actually! 8)

Pixies, pickpockets tramps 'n' theives, fresh cut grass, birdsong, wildebeest and cutthroat ne'er do wells, all life in it's variety and complexity and colourful form.

Parrots also, which lurk in my secret rain forest =D
