Im probably going to see a psychiatrist, and I dont know what to say. When I take valium I literally feel like I am a person again. Without it, I feel extremely depressed. I rarely get out of bed, i hardly ever eat, and my social life is taking a hit. Ive been like this for 2 years now. Valium helps.

Should I just ask for medicine? I dont want to sit in front of a Dr. , psychiatrist or not, and just moan about all my problems and how depressed I am. I know how depressed I am, and untill things in my life change, I just want something to make me feel purpose again.

Thoughts?

Tell the doctor the truth. We can't tell you how to get prescribed something I am afraid.. the psychiatrist is there to listen to you and to help you decide on the right medication; if you are not happy with them you can see someone else, but they are the expert.

Diazepam is not a long term solution; tolerance will build and benzo addiction is not fun (withdrawals are unpleasant and actually dangerous) so I would consider talking through other treatment options (therapy or other medication). There is information on psychiatric treatments in The Dark Side forum directory and I would also encourage you to post there if you would like some extra support and advice. BL can't tell you how to get prescribed a medication, however..

Closed, PM me with any queries.
