What did you do to get off your butt today? vs. "Butt's off the floor!"

Man, I slacked this week. I can't wait to get health insurance. I really want to get tested for hypothyroidism. I'm so tired today and there is no reason.

Anyway, Sunday I worked and Monday it rained, so no workout.

Tuesday: legs with lots of squats. Holy shit, my ass hurt for 2 days.
Wednesday: Chest, biceps and triceps lots of running, but shit it hurt to run the next day.

Haven't worked out since. I think tomorrow will start up my week again unless the 5 hour energy I drink in about an hour motivates me to get my arse out the door for a run.

I've been super tired these last couple of days, I really think it's atmospheric pressure. Could be that?

Ohhhhhh yes, they do. I have plenty of dents in mine. Of course, it's also a half gallon container. Yours is probably, what, 20oz?

yea the 20oz. i was more or less comparing it to another brand, the Urban Kanteen. I bang em off my shins cuz my gf wont let me kick things in the house anymore. Urban Kanteens dent after about 200-300 rounds. Ive smacked the Klean Kanteen off my hands, shins, and feet thousands of times and you cant tell its been done once, no dents or anything.

Mag light flashlights also work pretty good.

Today i did a shit load of stretching, still recovering from some connective tissue injuries in my legs. 5 empty hand forms, 3 weapon forms, all in the bright hot sun. Maybe 2-3x each. Then some hands techniques, 3 sets 50 reps, then finger pushups and situps.

Mod note: Don't take the piss in here.

got my new road bike and I've ridden 50 miles in four days... going to do my second ride of the day in a little while. Probably do 20 more miles.

if you have a bike and a smart phone, check this out: strava.com ... amazing for motivation.

I did a run but MAN it sucked today for some reason! I was tired, achey and my chest was tight and wheezy the whole way (I'm an asthmatic but I usually don't have much trouble with it).

Disappointed, but meh - the aim is to be tired at the end of it, I guess?

autumn allergies? I know smoking does not help but I think the high pollen count was the culprit for my wheezing. We got heaps of rain and I have run a few times without problem.

I'm spewing, I've been going nuts at the gym and started power walking to places.
Power walked to the shops the other day, afterwards my foot was a bit stiff.
Next morning couldn't walk on it. The doc says I've got Metatarsalgia ( sore where the toes meet the foot ) from over doing it with the exercising.
She said it could take 2 days to 2 weeks or more for it to heal, depends on the injury but I have to stay off it till its healed :(.

yesterday

push-ups, AMRAP in 60 seconds (got 85)
better workout than it sounds like

today

3 supersets, no rest
7 x dumb-bell curl
15 x overhead tricep press
7 x pull-up
7 x dip

4 supersets
10 x overhead dumbbell press
10 x pull-down

drop-set to failure on tricep machine

30 min swimming/deep-water running sprints

swam 6kilo, using a variety of strokes, lifted for an hour with a focus on upper body and MMAesque/unarmed combat trg with the other pl.comds from my coy for 45 minutes.

A bit stiff from the swimming, as its not my usual work out.

I did another run tonight wit my new headphones. We've been increasing the distance and tonight was a PB (yes!!!!). So rewarding! Very happy with my progress thus far. I'm not the fastest runner by any means, but I can last the distance. :)

7 mi trail run

my body is getting more versatile, but that's still a lot easier at 160 lbs than my current 215

^ Holy crap, man. Seven mile run at 215? You're doing pretty damn good at keeping yourself in a balanced state between lifting and cardio!

Edit: to catch up -

four 1/4 mile jogs three days ago
two 1/4 mile jogs two days ago
one 1/2 mile jog yesterday
one 1/2 mile and two 1/4 mile jogs today

Getting an overweight bicyclist used to running? Priceless.

5.4 mile trail run
my first group run without competition but secretly I did not want to stop 3 times. I wanted to see if I could run it continuously. really we did not need to stop more than half the people I was with run marathons
LOVED IT

I joined a local trail running group on facebook

Man, I knew I should not have stopped when I did. I didn't need to but the 5 people started to walk and it was easier to walk uphill then exert the energy to past them. I was unfamiliar with the trail so I didn't know when to pour it on. The last 30 secs was a sprint I blew past 5 :) I am learning how to be competitive with others.

Awesome job!

That last part is what I really miss about racing. I miss competing.

It's awesome when you spend the last mile or so hunting down someone and then finally taking them in the home stretch. Equally thrilling is hearing someone behind you in the latter stages of the race and then throwing in seemingly random pace changes to try and break them. I gotta get back into shape.

Starting again....
Just an hours walk around tha quiet part of town and in the park. Played around with my newly aquired dumbell weights, Nothing to serious just a few pumps with each arm, Must do better tomorrow.

Since they took primatene mist off the shelves, summer allergies are gonna suck for running!

Sunday: 4 miles (2 miles run, 2 miles walked back)
Monday: 4 miles in the rain. It was great too. It's so awesome to run in the rain. I'm getting better and I'm able to go farther.

Today: Legs
Tomorrow: Chest/triceps

3 km jog with the dog

2x8 bb military press. walked past the rack feeling guilty about not working out lately :\
