What did you do on 9/11 2001? (addicts in NYC mainly)

Not exactly jason.....one of them just posted above you.

But back then NYC was ending it's hundred year role as heroin central, and the old school fiends from back then were not on the internet, and yeah, lots of us are dead - but there were still something like 250k dopefiends here in those days - so I'm sure you'll find a few others besides me if you wait.....lol
Thanks for your input:)
funny you should mention that, while that was before I started any major drug use I do remember surfing around bluelight in the days right after the attacks..

I remember threads like "Will there be another 60's" etc

..funny to remember that now..I also remember there being a section of this site where you reviewed ecstacy "brands"..I wrote some back then,as I were heavily into raves and such(brought me to this site).. how innocent the world seemed back before those planes hit those towers .-.

Well....the evolution of BL has not so much to do with the towers and everything to do with a large population of nerds and suburban/smalltown/rural white Americans discovering hard drugs that they had never been exposed to in their own communities and were too isolated to find themselves before the internet.

So basically you had this whole generation of kids who'd never seen a heroin addict or crackhead or speedfreak start to teach each other that "harm reduction" meant that ALL drugs could be used "safely" if you were "smart" and "educated" enough and that lie has helped contribute to getting an entire generation of naive kids strung out.

BL is all about addiction now.....not raves or psychedelics or 'exploration'....

That is an astute observation that honestly deserves its own thread.

I was in 7th grade so no drugs for me.

I was 7 at the time, watching a cartoon -"top cat" on cartoon network, when my parents barge into the room yelling "give us the remote, quick!". They changed the channel at an incredible pace, their eyes wide open in shock. I sat back confused, not knowing whatever the fuck they were up to this time, watching their panic-struck faces changing design whenever there was a fragment of more news on the subject.

I can still feel the tension in the room when I ponder upon my memories of the day.

Take it easy.

Man, everyone here was in grade school when that happened. I was around 21 when it happened and I remember at 5 in the morning here on the west coast like four or five of those huge doubble proppler hilacopters flew right over my house and woke me up and I was like WTF. But, I live close to point Mugu Navel base so when those planes hit the towers they probley but allkinds of planes in the air on both coasts when that happened .

Anyways, I had to be to work at like 6:30 in the morninng then cus I was working construction, and I turn on Howard Stern as always on the way to work and there going on and on about this and I thought it was a joke or sumthing until I got to work and every one was standing around lisiting to the radio going O my gawd.

On that day, it was my first week of high school, in a borough other than the one I live in. It was frightening...we were told to make some friends since the bridges were closed and we wouldn't be going home that day. I still remember sitting in Orchestra class when we all found out what happened. We didn't have school the next day (it happened on a Tuesday, next day was a Wednesday) since the subways and bridges and city in general was a mess, there was this smell, this horrible smell...that just permeated the city for the entire day. At the time, I had never used any drugs or alcohol at all, I was only 14. However, on the first day of school after the attack, that Thursday, was the first time I smoked pot, and it was love at first sight. First time I drank alcohol too, but I wasn't nearly as interested in booze as I was in pot after that.

What an awful day in NYC history, and although I didn't elaborate much in here, I still remember every detail.

i was 18 and just getting into it all...i remember taking bong hits over my co-workers apt and then being stuck to the TV just like everyone else on the east coast...entire country for that matter.

I was in CT at the time so not too far away from nyc... I was in third grade. It was a normal day and then we hear about all this shit going down and all our parents wanting to come pick us up but the school wouldn't let them. So yeah we had our moment of silence and basically just sat around waiting for the end of the school day to come.

I was in High School in North Jersey (about 20 miles from NYC). Watched the coverage from the first plane hitting in home room, went to math class next, watched in there and saw the second plane hit within a few minutes of being in the classroom.

Cut the rest of the day after Math class. Basically just went home and watched the TV. One thing I will never forget is being in bed that night listening to the news on the radio. So much tension and false reports of things happening. Absolutely nuts.

As far as drugs, it was a Tuesday when I was in High school. I might have smoked weed after school or something if it was a normal day, but it was just not something that would have been appealing to you if you were in that situation watching the events unfold

I was 11 in 8th grade when it happened...no one told us until like noon and all they said was that a plane had crashed on NYC and that we needed to write down if our parents worked in ny (since we werent far)

I didn't find out what had really happened till I went home and saw the news showing people jumping out of like the 100th floor and shit. I remember they showed this husband and wife kiss each other and then both jump holding hands..I was like wtf NBC
